Have plans for viewing the annular solar eclipse on Saturday, Oct. 14? We will be at three locations around the valley with our solar scopes and free eclipse-themed activities. Join us at the Olympic Legacy Plaza at The Gateway between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., Whitmore Library between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., or Magna Regional Park between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Eclipse glasses that are rated for safety are currently available at Clark Planetarium for $3 a pair.

The moon will begin to eclipse the sun at 9:08 a.m. and finish around noon, with maximum coverage occurring around 10:28 a.m. Salt Lake City viewers will witness a partial eclipse, with the moon eclipsing roughly 90% of the Sun.

Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson will be at the Gateway with her Book and Media Club. Stop by and say hello!
