This weekend was absolutely amazing! From the very first notes (and our premiere of Angel Lam’s “Please let there be a paradise…”) the energy in the hall was electric. 👏👏

As noted by Utah Arts Review, "Jessica Rivero Altarriba captured the romantic spirit and underscored the rhythmic energy of the music with her well-defined and articulate direction."

And concertmaster Madeline Adkins “displayed fine technique and remarkable musicality in each concerto," with "the rapid-fire passages in the outer movements clearly defined and articulated in her hands." 🎻

✨ Big news! ✨ The Utah Symphony is thrilled to welcome Delyana Lazarova as our Principal Guest Conductor, beginning in the 2025-26 season! 🎶

Her electrifying debut with us last spring—featuring Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade” and the U.S. premiere of Dobrinka Tabakova’s “Orpheus’ Comet”—earned three standing ovations! 👏

Delyana shared, “From the very first concert I performed at the beautiful Maurice Abravanel Hall, I felt an immediate and profound connection with the musicians. Their artistry, passion, and commitment have left a lasting impression, and I am eager to continue deepening our collaboration in the seasons ahead.”
