Choosing the right neckline can make all the difference in your bridal look! Here’s a quick guide to some favorite necklines:

1. Sweetheart/Semi-Sweetheart: the classic heart shape. Elongates the neck and flatters the décolletage. A semi-sweetheart neckline gives brides this illusion, while allowing more coverage than the traditional sweetheart.
2. V-Neck: adds dimension, while being clean and classic. Often paired with a thicker strap or sleeves and can be made shallow or deep, depending on your style.
3. Straight: a clean, modern cut, often seen on strapless gowns. This shape accentuates the collarbones and is perfect for the minimalist bride.
4. Illusion: dreamy and romantic. Sheer fabric extends across the bodice to creating a “floating” effect for straps or plunges. Often paired with thick straps and long sleeves, but still shows some skin, providing the perfect balance of coverage.
5. Bateau: classic and timeless, this style frames the collarbones and works beautifully with sleeves or thin straps for a vintage touch.
6. Halter: shows off the shoulders while still providing coverage. A keyhole can be added to show off a little more skin.
7. Empire: the structured lines of this square neckline are flattering and classic. Can be cut lower and wider, depending on your personal style.
8. Plunging: for the daring bride. This neckline elongates the torso and is often paired with thick straps or longer sleeves to balance out coverage.
9. Jewel: high and rounded, often known as the t-shirt neckline. Perfect for the sophisticated bride. Can be beaded to create the illusion of wearing a necklace.
10. Mock neck: provides the most coverage, while being elegant and refined. Mesh or lace fabric can soften up this neckline.
11. Scoop: a low, circular neckline, accentuating the collarbones and lengthening the neck. It’s universally flattering and can be paired with straps, short or long sleeves.
12. Off-the-shoulder: ideal for summer or beach weddings. Perfect for the effortless, romantic bride.

Are you struggling to find “the one?!”

1. When it comes to wedding dress shopping, our best advice is to keep an open mind. Be open to trying on EVERYTHING! Trust us. So many brides come in with a vision of what they’d like their gown to look like and they end up leaving with the complete opposite. You never know what truly FEELS like you until you try it on. Plus, so many gowns look so different on the hanger than on the body, so give everything a chance and you might just surprise yourself!

2. Are you feeling the wedding dress stress? Remember to have fun! When you relax into the experience, it gives you the space to have an open mind. Know you can always lean on your stylists! We’re here to help you create a fun, pressure-free experience where you’ll feel comfortable and supported 🤍

If you’re working with a shorter timeline and it’s stressing you out, keep customizations in mind. While there may not be time to order a fully custom gown, there are so many easy customizations (e.g. sleeve or neckline changes) that can be made by a seamstress, that will make your gown feel more like YOU!

3. Are you feeling overwhelmed by choices? Between Pinterest, Instagram, your families opinions, trying on too many gowns - it can feel like a lot! Our stylists are truly experts in this field and can help you narrow down selections that truly fit your personality, style and vision. Don’t be afraid to ask for opinions/customization options, just because it doesn’t feel like “the one” when you first put it on, a couple of simple adjustments can completely transform one of our gowns into your perfect match.
