I wanted to check in with our wonderful friends and supporters and give you an update. While Flamingo Cantina is currently closed until the pandemic situation improves, we are working hard to be here for the long haul. Your support has meant so much to us and has helped us get this far. Of course we never anticipated this long of a shutdown.
Unfortunately Flamingo has been denied support through grants offered by the City of Austin, but after being Austin's "Good Vibes Club" for almost 29 years, we're not giving up. We believe what we do is essential to the musical diversity in our town- in bringing conscious reggae/world/hip hop music to Austin.
We are members of the National Independent Venues Association, which is working on a bi-partisan bill in Congress to help fund the industry so venues will be in place when it is time to re-open. Please visit www.saveourstages.com and sign to your show of support.

Hey everyone your SOTX scene page admin here. This page isn’t about me so I’ve never posted my face here until today but I wanted to write a small snippet in these covid times. This account started as a place for me to gather my concert videos and photography without overwhelming my personal page which is why you may have seen a hashtag thrown in every once in a while, but this page has turned into a place to share music memes, make connections with other artists and a place to celebrate live music culture local to the South Texas scene. South Texas may seem like a broad range but as many of you know artists in SA often play with artists in Houston, Austin, Corpus, the Valley and so on and I never wanted to miss an opportunity to cover artists from another city. Which is why even though our home base is in San Antonio our musical hearts stay open to Texas. While permanent posts are reserved to my personal photography (all pictures and videos on this page are taken by yours truly) we are also here to help promote your merchandise, social distancing friendly shows, and new single releases! Always feel free to send in submissions via DM and I will do my best to make sure they get posted in our stories section to help local artists.
