Hi, I’m Jenny 👋🏼 and I work behind the scenes to grow flowers from seeds in my backyard 💐

If you’d asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said fire truck 🚒 Seemed fun, you got to drive fast, and I’m the queen of overwatering so it seemed like the perfect fit. Fast forward 20 years and I graduated from Texas State with my BA in Psychology & on to pursue a career in Counseling (looking back, I realized I wasn’t doing it for the right reasons, but to make my parents happy instead of myself)

It took me awhile to figure out that life is short and I had to go after what I really wanted. Transitioned to Interior Design for a few years and worked with some amazing designers in Knoxville, TN before getting burnt out on lighting design (who has time to calculate the lumens of a table lamp? 🛋️)

I started gardening as a hobby in 2018 and the rest has been history 🥹 I received my degree in Landscape Design and am working on completing Floral Design classes as well.

Cheers to embracing the journey and celebrating every small step along the way! 👣🥂

“The Eastern migratory monarch butterfly has suffered a drastic decline, with populations decreasing by 59% in 2024 compared to the previous year” according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The startling figures were released following a meticulous annual survey conducted in central Mexico’s forests, where the butterflies spend their winters.

The researchers found that the monarchs occupied a mere 2.2 acres during the 2023-2024 winter season, a stark reduction from the 5.5 acres observed in the prior year.

The drastic reduction in habitat area has been attributed to climatic variations in the monarch’s breeding grounds across Canada and the United States, which have led to high temperatures and drought conditions. These adverse weather patterns have notably diminished the abundance of milkweed, the sole plant species where monarchs lay their eggs.

Milkweed is vital for the monarch’s life cycle. It’s the only plant monarch caterpillars eat. These caterpillars hatch from eggs laid on the plant before consuming its leaves.

This year, we’ve increased the number of milkweed plants in the beds and will be starting them from seeds as well to sell at markets as starter plants so you can help support monarchs, too. 🦋

We’ll also be donating 15% of proceeds this year to , whose mission is to increase and improve pollinator forage and habitats.
