I recently had a unique request to put together a Cuban appetizer menu for an engagement party. At first, I was a bit hesitant because I hadn't really dabbled in Cuban cuisine before. However, I've had plenty of experience cooking Haitian, Jamaican, and Puerto Rican dishes, so I was up for the challenge. After diving into my research, I came across some great ideas that got me excited about the project. (I fell in love with Cuban rice.)

Facts

Cuban food is a reflection of the country's melting pot history and has roots in African, Spanish, Italian, American, Chinese and Taino cuisines. The key influences came from Spanish country cooking with plenty of beans, loads of garlic and pork.

Some of the most popular dishes in Cuban cuisine include ropa vieja, Cuban sandwich, arroz con pollo more

Ropa Vieja is considered the national dish of Cuba, where residents hold a special affinity for it. The name ropa vieja translates to “old clothes,” likely because it's traditionally made with tough cuts of meat that break into long, thin fibers—resembling well-worn threads—when cooked.

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share some important news with you - I've made the decision to take a break from taking any new bookings for the month of December.

Firstly, I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support and belief in my dream. It's because of amazing customers, clients, and followers like you that I've come this far.

2023 has been quite a rollercoaster ride for me, and now it's time for some much-needed rest and relaxation. I want to spend quality time with my family and little ones, as well as reconnect with my friends. It's all about finding balance and recharging those batteries.
