2020 has been a challenging year, but it's allowed for a lot of creativity. Events are looking a bit different these days. This was our last event (smaller, outside, away from the hotel conference room) in Phoenix at a beautiful private AirBnB. Thanks to these two for being the best partners around. Corporate events are my niche and I really miss being out there planning and executing. In the meantime I continue to educate myself and pivot as much as I can virtually.

Here are some statistics I found that I thought you might enjoy regarding corporate events in the US.

In the US, 53% of attendees participate in corporate and business meetings, 18% in conventions, conferences and congresses without an exhibition floor and 16% in trade shows or conferences with an exhibiting component. 6% participated in incentive meetings and 6% in other meetings.

(Oxford Economics and Events Industry Council, 2018)

The priority of attendees attending corporate events in 2018 is networking (82%), learning (71%) and entertainment (38%). Self-improvement is important to 37% and time out of the office is appealing to 16%

(EVENTMB, 2018)

My takeaway: it's important to stay relevant, always be creative and come up with new ways to engage the attendees. Make sure they leave feeling impacted as well as entertained. Travel and events are going to become more and more precious make sure your event stands out!

I have been feeling a gamut of emotions in the past few weeks. I love everything about managing events & feel alive when I am in the craziness that is event planning. Not to mention I am truly an extrovert and feel so much energy when I am around others.

This photo encompasses it all: me talking on the phone, holding a walkie-talkie and a clipboard, and making sure all the details come together to create an incredible experience. I miss this.

The uncertainty right now is disheartening, but this is my 10th year in the events industry, and I am positive good things will come from this. Right now, we are actively seeing changes happen in real-time with virtual events and meetings happening every day.

Clients can now spend more time developing their live events and making sure when we get back to normal, they are even more impactful. I am staying positive, and developing new skills and planning to navigate this uncertainty. Huge thanks to all my clients for believing in me.
