I've got a tweaked profile that should produce cleaner prints. The last one did a nice job on Kali's hand plates, running 206Β°C, so we'll see how 216 goes. I decided to reprint her back plate in the hopes of very little finishing before painting.

The new Elegoo Neptune 4 Max under test prints. The threaded, stringing prints were using 5.3 Cura's profile for the Neptune 3 Pro with Tower supports. Those supportsΒΉ failed among the stringing issue. Those prints were at .2 height, 15% Gyroid Infill, at 100mm/minute speed.
The new attempt is using the latest Cura, 5.7.1, that has a native profile for the Neptune 4 Max. This allows me to run at the mid-range speed of 250mm/minute. I'm much more comfortable using Tree Supports, as I know they work. The other settings are the same and it looks like the machine is happier out of the gate with the new profile.

Been a bit for an update so here we are! Worked up and printed the shoulder bells and upper arms for Kali's Sniper.

Sanded down the first primer coat on her breast plate the reinforced the weaker areas with SciGrip before the second filling. Our Battle Cat even came by for an inspection! 😁

Worked up the shins with her personal motif as well. She love Art Deco and was having problems working it up in Sintra. She's quite happy with the placement and treatment of them.

Lastly...the pile. You may be able to see her tummy plate in there, along with a strip of her right back with shoulder strap.

I've left off my Fives build for the time being. Been working on getting the backyard shed up and the sprinklers going again. Those have been taking a lot out of my neck, shoulder, and back but we're nearly complete on those. Then it'll be the front bathroom. πŸ™„

State of the Armor Address:
Right front boxes for Fives printed. I guess the nozzle clog layers are a boon. I didn't ensure they were perpendicular to the belt. πŸ˜• Time to get back into 3D space, straighten them out, and then reprint.

On the Mando Front: left and right plates printed up and cemented together. When I saw that weird pull on the upper left center, I was thinking, " I know I didn't print this in ABS! WTH?!" The gap is mostly filled with acrylic and will be filled normally, at least.

State of the Armor Address: puttied up the back boxes and thermal detonator for the b***y-bucket and will move on to the right side soon. The right plate of Kali's breast plate printed out well.

There were hiccups with leveling printer beds again, which took a couple of days and failed prints to straighten out. Got them going again with the left breast plate going and the right front box set for Fives coming up.

Alright! Woke up to this stuff done and still going. Kinda rough in spots, weird gaps and bed issues, but relatively solid. I'll try the resin filler coating on the boxes and detonator but stick with the SciGrip and glazing putty for the b***y-bucket.

Catch up time! I had shot the filler/primer on the bucket, chest, and lower torso pieces last week. I forgot to post due to trenching out the sprinkler before the concrete guys came in. Finished up the print and cemented together the front belt/lower abs/groin and got the glazing fill over it. Managed to get the sanding in on the back while starting the print for the left back belt/butt.

Work progresses on Fives. The groin/lower abs/belt sections are printing up. Found the Jedi machine had a seriously blocked nozzle that I'm having to disassemble the head to clear. It was stopped for 6 hours or so before I got to it. πŸ™„ After clearing the block, it'll be measure, cut the model down, then start again at the new point.

Looks like my measurements and strip prints worked out well. I have a taller pelvis than average, so it'll look odd till I get the thighs scaled in and on.

Busy day...started out with putting the belly & groin/lower abs test together. It seems to fit well and lines up with the abs nicely. Moved on to getting the backpack inset set up then on the printer.

It was on to some more filling on the back armor. Smoothing out the steps in the right upper/lower seam, General filling along each main seam, then smoothing the transitions in the fillets I made to line up the back with the front.

After that was almost going to chop the groin/lower abs/belt for printing but I had an epiphany.

I've been contemplating using magnets for this section. Put 3 or four in the side seams of the belt to hold it together. Then, how about a couple in each pouch to make it easier to breakdown to store in the armour crate? πŸ€” So, got the front bits lined up and ready and will start with planting the holes later.

So, I had to adjust sizes a bit as the lower abs/cod was a smidgen larger (63mm) and the waist needed 15mm a side more. This was about 8 hours into the test print.

Had a hell of a time getting the back together for some reason. The side seam didn't want to stay together so I cemented the top sections togeter. I then tried the bottom and side but the center pulled apart along the backpack seam. I managed to work it apart but it took another 3 attempts to get it down to that millimeter or so space that's left. My shoulder is displeased with the workout. πŸ™„

Upper right back complete and resting. The finishing work I put in on the left back and lower right back was enough for my shoulder today. Also, I'm dinking around with the cod, butt, and waistband sized.

Chuggin' away on the upper right back. The groin test showed about 35mm short so I'll revisit that today.

Today's shenanigans: more work on the left back to include needing to refill the lower rib area during to vibrational separation. Filled and rough filed the right lower. I've got the upper right back printing while a partial print of the groin is going. This will be a strip of the waist and down the front to check fit before the whole thing is printed.

Today's shenanigans thus far:
1) lower left back about 3 hours into a nearly 17 hour print.

2) working on the overlay chest/ab plate. As I had to resize the pieces, the original won't really work anymore. Thankfully, it'll serve as a nice pattern. I should be able to use the ab plate.

3) chest sanded with 240, washed and dried. Next for this will be filler/primer.
