Hey Hoover Cardinals!!
Would you like to celebrate a great BM with fellow members of the Alumni Organization? The HAO is going to sponsor a BM-athon and you can participate. If everybody tries, it will be a memorable experience. The HAO is about to undertake the Biggest Moving event for the HAO in years. After years of working out of a very small storage place, we have been given the use of a full-sized classroom to store all of Hoover’s treasures. Many of you are familiar with the very cramped space in the Music Building, but very few of you are aware of an attic full of stuff in what used to be the 700 Building but is now the 1000 Building. Everything is moving to the 1600 Building (formerly known as the 1200 Building and the English Building) but it cannot get there by itself. Oh, it is also going to the second floor which is another part of the adventure.
The room comes without furnishings. If you have any book cases, shelves, folding tables, or file cabinets, there are needs for such things. If you have a desire to play pack-mule to help with the move and organizing things there is a huge need there. This project is starting from scratch and you can make it a success.

Hoover High School is honored to present-
Hoover High’s 95th Anniversary Celebration.
Date: Saturday, November 2, 2024
Time: Activities start at 12 Noon and proceed through 5pm

TOURS: The new, Main Building, featuring display cases housing Hoover’s history by decade, The Performing Arts Center, The Culinary Arts building, and much more. For those who want a walk down memory lane, the Old English building.
You’ll see displays of student art, have the chance to hear musical performances, and meet some of Hoover’s Class of 2025!
Tower Book pages will be on hand for all Hoover grads to sign.

The Hoover Alumni Organization will be ready to greet and mingle with all, at this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Space will be available in the Quad Area for classes to gather. We are working out the details of what alumni may bring (chairs, tables, pop-ups. etc.). When we figure out the particulars, we will be sending a follow-up message.

This event will offer you the opportunity to sign up as a new Hoover Alumni Organization member and donate to the Hoover Alumni Organization or a specific program, department, or team.

Hoover’s ASB will be selling snacks and drinks.
Get ready to have a great time and join in celebrating Hoover’s 95th birthday!

HOOVER IS ALIVE AT 95
The 95th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone for Hoover is happening soon. The first event will be the homecoming game on Friday, October 11, at 6:30 PM. At this event, those who have been Hoover stars or honored with a letter will be recognized for making Hoover have such a rich history. Come and join the start of a great celebration.

Summer Nelson ('94) is coordinating bringing the great athletic names of Hoover together. Please let Summer know if you will be attending or if you have any questions. You may contact her at [email protected].

For those attending the BBQ this month!!!!

18th Annual- Hoover Groover BBQ
Saturday, August 17, 2024
11:00am-7:00pm

Morley Field at the corners of Upas/Arnold/Jacaranda, under the willow trees. This is open to All Hoover High School graduating classes. We are celebrating 18 years of our collective histories and memories.

Event Planner: Sara Wilhelm-Lee
~Potluck: Please bring a dish to serve 6-8 people
~We provide: hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, paper good and utensils, we provide grills, tables, insurance and permits.
~You provide: a side dish to share, a chair and your choice of beverages...and your classmates.
~Donations are accepted at the BBQ, to help with permit and insurance fees. (If your able, $5.00 is suggested).

Thank you to the crew, that show up, help with supplies, tables and setup/breakdown.
Note: The official permit hours are from 11 AM to 7 PM. However, many show up an hour or so earlier to help with the set up.
S.D. Park & Rec. regulations: NO smoking, NO alcohol & NO glass containers.

Hi Class of 98',

The Hoover Alumni Organization will be hosting a Hoover High School Staff Breakfast on Friday, June 7th.
They are in great need of Volunteers to assist in serving the breakfast to the staff.
If you know of any of your classmates who would be interested in volunteering, please share this information with them.

They will be gathering on Hoover’s campus at The Culinary Arts Building, which is located at the back of the campus.
Volunteers will be able to enter at the Highland Ave gate entrance, next to the Armory, and park inside the gate.
Someone will come and meet you.

We will need you for approximately 2-3 hours
Arrival Time: 7:45AM
