WARNING: Long post - What is BizX?
BizX is an American financial technology company that operates a digital private currency that facilitates business-to-business exchange of goods and services.
What the heck does that even mean? Okay, to me, it's a networking/barter/trading group? What? Well, it's a bunch of small businesses who are willing to do business with each other using a different form of currency called BizX dollars.
I'll be totally honest. The first time I heard from them was June of 2017. They needed a photographer to photograph their very first networking party, their OPENING party, here in San Diego. A friend of an acquaintance called me saying that they needed help. I happened to be available. They tried to explain to me how I'd get paid. I still didn't get it. (I'd get paid in BizX dollars? Say what?) But since I was available and I knew someone needed my help, I had to said yes. I figured, worse comes to worse, I was only giving 2 or 3 hours of my time to photograph the event, and another few hours to edit. Even if I got absolutely nothing from this, I knew I helped someone in need of my services.
I photographed the event, it was fun. They were nice. If you know anything about me, my ideal client is simply, NICE PEOPLE. There is no shortage of that with BizX.
I'll admit, even after the first event, I was STILL skeptical. I still didn't understand how this would be of any use to me. But I signed on about 9 days after the first event. That was on June 9th, 2017.
I kept photographing events here and there. Just mid-week stuff. Basically those hours in the week that I had nothing planned anyway. I didn't have a clear understanding of what value this would bring to me.
Six months went by, I was earning BizX dollars with no place to spend it (at least I didn't think so). Until December 12th, 2017. That was mine and Dave's 5 year anniversary. We got in my car to go to lunch and my car wouldn't start. OH NO!!! Not even a jump start was going to do the job. As it turned out, BizX had added Robert's Auto Service in Pacific Beach at this point. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had GREAT reviews! So I brought my car to them. They fixed my car and I paid them using BizX dollars! AMAZING!!! They really took the "Monopoly money!" ha ha! THAT was the moment when it clicked. I texted Dan Kosh, and told him how incredibly happy I was that BizX saved the day!
From that moment on, I believed in the power of BizX 100%! I would never tell people about a company, a product or a service if I didn't fully believe in it. BizX is one of those things in my life. If you are a business owner, and you don't belong to BizX, why not?
If you decide to join, use my link to get $100 to use immediately! We both get $100 BizX dollars! It's a win-win!

This event was from June 13, 2018 at Absolution by the Sea. The day before my birthday. I had invited a handful of friends to this event and I jokingly kept saying that it was my birthday party that BizX was throwing for me. Well guess what? They surprised me with a birthday cake!!! It was crazy because I was in total work mode, I didn't realize that Dan was talking about me until a second after I looked at Brett Murphy, who was looking at me with a crazed look in his eyes, pointing. Then it seriously felt like slow motion. I started to realize that what was being said was about me. I stood there, stunned. Not hearing a thing! Then my friend Terri Rippee turns to me and says, "Get down there!" (I was standing on a bench trying to get crowd shots as Dan was speaking). I started to step down and she then says, "Give me your camera!" I was like, "Oh yeah! Okay!" I handed it to her and she took the photos as everyone sang Happy Birthday. I loved the reaction photo once the crowd realized Dan was talking about me too. Ha ha! I guess we were all surprised. As I stood there looking around, it honestly meant SO much to me to see the people I had invited as my guests to this party. Just a small handful of people, but it meant the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
