Face Painting and Belly Painting in San Diego

I was a Middle/High-School Teacher and Counselor for 10 years, and have worked with children with special needs. I've since taken a break to focus on being a mom for a bit--which has had the added benefit of having time to turn my hobby into "Fancy Nancy Faces." (Derived from a nickname a former student gave me my second year teaching.) I only use pai

nts that are made for face/body painting. The brands I use are (in no particular order): Snazaroo, Wolfe, Paradise, TAG, Kryolan, and Diamond FX. Please note that I will not paint over sores, rashes, or broken skin. I will also not paint on an individual who is showing symptoms of a cold. To remove paints: using mild soap, work up a lather to loosen the paint and rinse. Baby oil or lotion can be used for any staining (rub, leave on for 15 minutes, wash off). These staining effects do fade. Please keep in mind that a design can take anywhere from one minute (for a plain rainbow, simple flower, heart, etc.) to 8 minutes (more elaborate designs). Belly paints and extremely detailed work (for costumes) can take over an hour, depending on the design. You can contact me at [email protected]

The last few events I’ve done face painting and airbrush tattoos.

This is roughly how it’s gone:
* I arrive and set up and the kids excitedly talk to each other about what they are going to have me paint.

*I try to encourage a tattoo but the first few kids want a face paint.

* one brave kid lets me give them an airbrushed tattoo.

* majority of the kids after pick tattoos over Facepainting.
*kids try to come back for additional tattoos.

* adults see all the kids have at least one face paint or tattoo

* adults then take control and the remainder of my time at the event is spent airbrushing adults.

I seriously love my job. 😂

Last year this awesome kid (C) asked me to paint a huge shark on his torso. This year he told me he trusted me to put whatever I wanted. Of course I immediately thought of the legend of the koi that was transformed into a dragon. Now I have a full year to create a whole new tattoo for this awesome kid.
