Sometimes we get the chance to explore new venues—One of many delights in our line of work. We loved the opportunity to explore the inspiring, collected spaces throughout the grounds of the Inn at Mattei's Tavern in Santa Ynez. Warm, inviting, and storied—This venue has captured our hearts. We can't wait to create here.

Details to look for when touring a venue:

→ Vendor flexibility. Not all venues allow you to bring in whichever vendors you choose - I would recommend reviewing the list and/or leaning on your planner to ensure the vendors shown can support the vision you are looking for.

→ Charges that may arise later. For instance, a F&B minimum is not the same as a proposal with your anticipated guest count. Ensure the hours noted are aligned to how many hours you envision being in the space. If you are wanting a tent or large-scale lighting buildout, such as canopy lighting, note that additional buildout days will need to be reserved. Lastly, if in-house rentals are offered, take a peek and make sure that you are comfortable using them or are ok with the investment associated with bringing in additional rentals from an outside vendor.

→ Date availability is aligned to when you are envisioning your wedding. Hotel-style venues tend to have smaller minimums for Fridays if your guest count is on the lower side.

→ Landscaping + design elements that are aligned to your vision. We're always down to create a lush gardenscape with florals, but it's best to start with a space that you already love. This way we're adding to the space, but you're already in an environment that feels true to your style.
