EDGE9 MEDIA
The name, EDGE9 Media, comes from two impactful moments in my life. After successfully creating the number one show in Aspen, Colorado I decided that if I wanted to do film at a bigger level I needed to move back to California, and make my way to Los Angeles. So early in 2009 I backed up the few bags I had, rented a car, and made the 11 or so hour drive back to California. I was full
of energy, excitement, and confidence. But life likes to test you. Soon after I moved back to California, I found myself with no money, no car, battling depression, and no purpose. I did have a small job though. I worked 13 hours a week at a pizza delivery restaurant that rhymes with stizza tut. Since I had no car, I had to ride a busted bike about 10 miles + a bus ride to work. (I was in the best shape of my life from all the bike riding though)
It was one day that I was riding my bike in the rain, that I realized that I had to do something about my situation. In my search for answers, I somehow stumbled across a book titled, ‘The Slight Edge’. It’s an amazing book that basically talks about the compound interest of doing small tasks each day - towards a bigger goal. After reading this book, I re-built myself and taught myself everything I could about film. After a year I was able to move to Los Angeles and get a full-time job at Maker Studios. It was a great job and one of my major goals at the time. After three years of working at Maker Studios, I felt it was time to push myself even more. So June 2014, I started my own company. When thinking of a name I quickly remembered how far I had come - and the book ‘The Slight Edge’ came to mind. So I decided to combine part of the book title and that crazy time of 2009 - to create EDGE9 Media. Since starting EDGE9 Media I have grown so much and learned from so many amazing clients, mentors, family. Everyone has a unique story, and I hope to share yours one day.
