We do acrylic painting in the studio, which is the most like the art classes of my youth. This student did most of the work in 6th grade, but wrapped it up this fall as a 7th grader. She was glad to be done, but what a beautiful and detailed result.

This fun campfire project is very popular with my students. This 3rd grader did a great job. We focused on making each stone a little different, like nature.

A 5th grade student drew this wolf with 2H, 2B and 4B pencils. She worked hard to get texture and value.

I have a pair of 6th graders that take turns picking out projects in class. One is a huge Percy Jackson fan, and this is one of the pieces they created. I love learning what kids are interested in. Subject matter is super important to keep middle schoolers engaged!
