What a memorable concert this weekend by the San Diego Master Chorale. The audience enjoyed every moment of Durufle's Requiem along with Bach, Brahms, Britten and others. Most of all, it was wonderful to see the beauty of choral music bring together so many people from across the San Diego community.

The San Diego Master Chorale will perform Gerald Finzi's "God is gone up," Johannes Brahms's "Geistliches Lied, Op. 30," and Benjamin Britten's "Jubliate Den," in addition the the sublime Requiem by Maurice Durufle. The concerts this weekend feature one of the most beloved choral works ever written. This Requiem, composed by Maurice Duruflé, is deeply loved and appreciated by singers and audience members for its seamless connection between the old and the new.

After this morning’s joint rehearsal with the choirs of All Souls’, San Diego, and St. James by-the-Sea, La Jolla, I’m particularly excited about tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, March 10), here at St. James. Grateful to these two wonderful ensembles and their directors, Ruben Valenzuela and Alex Benestelli!
