During the summer off-season for most community concert bands, there is still one more performance this summer by the Villa Musica Summer Wind Ensemble. This coming Sunday (8/18) @ 3:00. See the flyer for details. Admission is FREE. You might see someone you know blowing his trumpet (or at least trying to 🤣).

This Saturday, the Navy Band Southwest will be performing at the Summer Band Festival, featuring members of our very own Kearny Mesa Concert Band and the San Diego Concert Band!

Navy Band Southwest is one of the Navy’s finest and oldest continuing musical organizations. Originating in 1923, these highly trained professional musicians serve as the musical ambassadors for the Commander, Navy Region Southwest.

Don’t miss this chance to hear this group of accomplished musicians, and experience firsthand the pride and professionalism of today’s United States Navy.

This year’s Summer Band Festival will be at one of San Diego’s newest hidden gems, Civita Park!

If you’ve never been to Civita Park before, there’s lots to do. Take a stroll through the whimsical park gardens, snap a pic in “The Magic Tunnel”, grab a bite to eat from the Mission Valley Farmers Market, and enjoy live music from some of San Diego’s finest concert bands.

Now that sounds like the perfect San Diego weekend for everyone!

Thank you San Diego Community Jazz Band for a GREAT concert. You guys were cookin’ last night. That was a 4 alarm fire on stage. Great soloists, too. Some of the best all year. And what an audience! They ate you up and didn’t want to leave. Bravo everyone!
