Happy Friday! Today, weโre highlighting Tom, our former executive chef and one of our BZC family all stars! ๐ Tom officially retired a few years ago after an amazing 31 (!!!) years with us, but weโre lucky enough to still have him working part-time in the kitchen, bringing his signature touch to every dish.

Growing up in Oklahoma as one of nine siblings, Tom discovered his love for cooking while whipping up meals for his brothers and sisters. He made his way to SF in 1981 and soon after met Betty at an event at the . Tom still remembers the very first dish he plated for BZCโquail with pureed beet! After a sweet stint as a pastry chef at (where his chocolate cake became Bettyโs fave), Tom joined us as BZCโs very first executive chef, carrying on Bettyโs legacy and crafting every single custom menu until he retired.

With 35+ years in the SF event scene, Tomโs favorite venue? The iconic (though SF City Hall comes in as a close second). We couldnโt be more grateful for everything Tomโs done to shape BZCโwe wouldnโt be who we are today without him. Cheers to you, Tom! ๐ฅ Hereโs to more memories and great food together!
