HUGE NEWS!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​After three years as BZC's Executive Chef, our very own Dan Filice is hanging up his apron to take on a new role as our General Manager. While we'll miss having Dan in the kitchen every day, we know he'll bring the same passion for planning and love for the energy of event work to his work as our GM. Don't worry, you'll still be seeing Dan out at events--we can't keep him away!

Stay tuned for more information on our new Chef, who just happens to be someone from Dan's past life, and a Michelin-starred restaurant alum.

We love our Betty Zlatchin Catering family! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​With over 40 years in business behind us, we’re lucky to have staff both old & new, past & present, who feel like family. The love and care that we feel for each other comes through in our food & hospitality. Every step of our catering process begins and ends with our team, so we make sure that they are taken care of first and foremost.

B&B’s wedding day was centered around family, games, dancing, and, of course, good food. They wanted their menu to reflect the diverse flavors of San Francisco, and we were happy to meet the request. We served a range of dishes from many cuisines, but, unsurprisingly, sliders were biggest hit of the night!

Meet the BZC team!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Today we're celebrating our very own General Manager of Events & Event Designer, José, who has been with BZC for a whooping 35 years. José originally started as a bartender, but quickly discovered his passion & talent for designing unique catering stations. He loves to dream up the ideal buffet display or platter garnish to perfectly fit each event. José has many talents, but his enthusiasm for event industry education, producing large events, and fostering his relationships with our many long term clients is what truly sets him apart. We are so lucky to have had 35 years of José!

Fun Fact: José is lucky enough to spend a month every summer at his property in Mexico, where he is currently relaxing and enjoying the local cuisine.

D & B’s airy & ethereal City Hall wedding, featured on , was so beautiful that we couldn’t pick less than a full carousel of photos to feature.

Here’s what our bride had to say about BZC: “Food and drink were very important to us. We found an amazing local caterer who helped us choose dishes that were very “us” and incorporated our love of Asian flavors with classic Californian food... For me, the appetizers stole the show - Kobe beef sliders, avocado carpaccio, Peking duck pancake, white soy cured hamachi, and a blistered corn pizzetta. Dinner was a choice between beef short ribs, herb-crusted halibut, or a wild mushroom and squash risotto. For late-night bites we chose mini soft pretzels with grainy mustard (for me) and fried chicken sliders (for Buddy).”

Honored to see Wyomi & Aric's romantic San Francisco City Hall + The Hibernia SF wedding featured in The Lane. This was a truly special event, featuring dreamy design by Andrea Munson.

"Being a well versed foodie and taking pride in the family business, it was important for Aric to have Christopher Ranch garlic incorporated in all aspects of the menu. It was to a great surprise when at their tasting they found out the catering company, Betty Zlatchin has been using their garlic for years. Betty Zlatchin had customized the menu for the rehearsal dinner, passed bites at the cocktail hour before the ceremony to the sit down dinner at the reception. Staying within the bounds of quintessential Californian cuisine."

We were thrilled to see A & W's iconic SF wedding featured on . ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​After a stunning ceremony set up at SF City Hall, adorned with opulent green & white florals, we set tables for 350 guests at . Our couple and their nearest and dearest danced the night away to live music, and ended the party with an epic DJ set by the groom himself.

Marisa and Katie’s wedding…..A special wedding indeed! Such a wonderful couple and just a gorgeous event in the middle of a field nestled in Half Moon Bay. Guests had a blast. Everything had to be brought in from, generator power, to potable water to, of course, the food!
Spectacular flowers too! FYI - Marissa the bride runs a fantastic floral company in the Bay!

Claire and Joe's wedding reception was a night to remember! From the stunning decor to the heartfelt toasts, every moment was a testament to love and celebration. ❤️

But let's talk about the food! Our chefs curated a menu that had taste buds dancing all night long. The highlights included a delectable Bruschetta bar, Deviled Tuna Tartare, Fines Herb Local Halibut, and a mouthwatering Seared Sonoma Duck Breast, just to name a few.

And when it was time for dessert, guests were in for a treat! They savored homemade KitKat bars, mini donuts, creme brûlée, and enjoyed zesty lemon bars.

But what's a celebration without drinks? Signature cocktails, refreshing cucumber lemonade, and fruit-infused spa water were sipped on throughout the evening, keeping everyone's spirits high! 🍋🍹

Last weekend’s event was a very special wedding to celebrate the union of Wyomi and Aric at the breathtaking Hibernia venue. ✨

🌱 The celebration embraced the spirit of our community, with locally sourced ingredients adding a touch of authenticity to each bite…featuring an Artisan Fromage & Artisan Charcuterie, Grilled Frog Hollow Farms Summer Peach Salad, Garlic and Thyme Crusted Snake River Beef Tenderloin, and Pan Seared Local White Sea Bass.

Guests were treated to a City Hall Ceremony in the Main Hall and then to our dinner and dancing and after party at the Hibernia until 2 AM!

Hibernia's timeless beauty provided the most enchanting setting for this unforgettable wedding. Every detail radiated grace and charm. 💕

Our Poke class instructor, Kalen Kelekoma, comes from a long line of Kauai fishermen who would always have poke growing up on the island. In fact his grandfather was the last Konohiki of Hanamaulu (today we would call him an ocean and land resource manager). He was the one who said when and what kind of fish you can catch. Fish was always around and Kalen is an expert teacher, chef and caterer.

We had the treat of learning from Kalen and his partner Sorrel last week while the Zlatchin family (3 generations) were in Kauai. We prepared poke from a vibrant yellowfin tuna caught that morning and learned he 2 main variations of classic poke preparation, as well as get creative with our own variations of poke. We sourced poke inspiration from their 10 acre property incorporating bits of flavor like lemongrass, kaffir lime, thai basil, mango, passion fruit to name a few.

A highlight was tasting the best sashimi I have ever eaten when Kalen scooped out of the fish’s rib and pieces of the most tender and succulent fish and we mixed it with a touch of wasabi and soy. Thanks Kalen and Sorrel for being such lovely hosts too! If you are ever going to Kauai, this is a must do, plus you can stay at their awesome property too on the West Shore.
