We're located at 1069 Howard Street (Between 6th and 7th) In the South of Market area of San Francisco, just 2 blocks from Moscone Convention Center and Civic Center BART station. The Box SF the former 'William Randolph Hearst Printing Plant' and one of San Francisco’s

premiere small meeting and event spaces. The Top floor boasts the Gate Room with the largest oldest dining and meeting table in the USA at 337 years old, it seats 32 guests and the room seats 50. The main room attached to the Gate Room is a versatile space with a wide array of options for every type of meeting, training, wedding, dinner, reception or offsite. The second floor has three beautifully appointed private meeting suites available for hourly rentals for 2-30 guests or to combine with our third floor main events rooms. The ground floor has been transformed and restored to an 1850’s Mercantile with all original fixtures from around the world. BOOK AN EVENT, or stop by the Mercantile from 10am to 5pm Monday through Saturday, to select some beautiful Letterpress printing, pick up a one of a kind gift, attend an event and enjoy this opportunity to step back in time, absorbing this visual feast! Hours for the events and meeting spaces are 7 days a week by appointment from 7am to 2am, or by special arrangement outside of these hours, and at specific requested times on evenings or weekends. WE’RE IN THE FORMER WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST PRINTING PLANT IN SAN FRANCISCO’S SOUTH OF MARKET DISTRICT! WE PRODUCE AND HOST CORPORATE EVENTS, OFF-SITES, POP-UPS, MEETINGS, TRADE TASTINGS AND DINNERS. WE ARE OFTEN RENTED FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM SHOOTS AS WELL, WE’RE AVAILABLE SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. WE HAVE THE LARGEST AND OLDEST MEETING AND DINING TABLE AT 335 YEARS OLD, AND MADE FROM VILLAGE GATE DOORS FROM CHINA! WITH OUR HISTORIC TOP FLOOR AND THREE PRIVATE SUITES ON OUR SECOND FLOOR THIS AMAZING BUILDING IS PERFECT FOR SMALL TO MID SIZED EVENTS. In addition to our top floor event space and second floor suites, The Pressroom and 1850’s Mercantile on the ground floor of this three story building, has printing presses dating as early as 1838. Each of our Printing presses have been perfectly restored and are in working order. The Box SF prints, produces, exhibits, sells and educates it’s Client’s on the remarkable and varied types of printing that were done in the past and continues using those same methods in our own work everyday! The entire building is filled with 15 million of pieces of antique and rare ephemera, prints, posters, labels, cards, books, packaging and graphic objects dating from 1700-today. We also house house many thousands of tools, toys, printing objects, design materials and other resources to collage, rubber stamp, perforate, crimp and create journals, books, cards, and unique printed matter of every type. Archivists love our material, collectors and dealers from all over the world are in the shop daily, and some of the leaders of the design and printing industry collaborate with us 365 days a year and fro all over the world! Tour Hours are very flexible and are generally Monday through Saturday 9am-6pm by appointment, and at specific requested times on evenings or weekends, for questions call 415-934-6900 or Mark E.
