Plough and Stars Trad Sessions The Plough Sessions have been going since 1975. This page will inform sessioneers about any news or announcements concerning the sessions.

When the first sessions started at the Plough and Stars in 1975 it was during the days that the great box players, Joe Cooley and Kevin Keegan, were both living in San Francisco and introducing the joys of Irish trad music to the locals. The Sunday sessions have been ongoing ever since and expanded to Tuesdays in 1996. People from all around the world visit these sessions and some of the fabulous

luminaries and best exponents of Irish trad have joined in for a few tunes when passing through town. The sessions are supported by a large number of competent local players and sponsored by publican, Sean Heaney, who has a great love for the music and continues to support it in the Plough and Stars all these years.
