On January 26, the San Francisco Girls Chorus will present an eclectic mix of repertoire including Veljo Tormis, Cesar Cui, Mozart, Schubert, Amy Beach and Philip Glass. Each piece will talk about love -- for country, for a family member, for a partner, or for the world. The program will take us on a wonderful journey, inspired by powerful poets such as Emily Dickinson, Paul Verlaine, Robert Browning and Allen Ginsberg. The final work of the evening, by Philip Glass is about finding calm, peace and reconciliation -- in a word “ hope” for all of us. We definitely need it at this time.
