And, that's a wrap!! Four days, six events, and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue is officially open! Thanks to all the amazing vendors who provided donations, services, and all around good vibes. Thanks to all the Muttville staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication. Thanks to all the fosters and adopters who give the gagillion senior dogs a new beginning. And a huge congratulations to Sherri Franklin for the amazing accomplishment 🐾

The other day, I did a site tour at the California Academy of Sciences with my couple and their 7-year-old son. The kid and I were looking at the museum's resident alligator, Claude 🐊. I asked if he knew what made that alligator so special. The kid responded, "it's albino." I asked if he knew what "albino" meant and he shook his head so I tried to explain albinism. Ah, the honesty of children ...

ME: what color are my eyes?
HIM: white
ME: what is the color in the center?
HIM: brown/black
ME: what color is my hair?
HIM: (lengthy pause) brown and white

I 100% disagree with the planner who said the couple shouldn't offer a vegetarian only menu. Selecting a menu that includes items neither of the couple would eat is silly. As with any menu, you will encounter guests who have allergies so that's neither here nor there when it comes to whether or not meat is offered. I've done vegetarian weddings and vegan weddings; the key is having a good variety for guests to select from and, most importantly, having the food be tasty. After 10+ years, I still remember an incredibly delicious vegetarian wedding that included fresh artichoke heart bread, roasted beets, a corn salad, a buttery polenta, a couscous salad, ... Not one guest complained, and no one walked away from the table hungry

Yesterday's wedding included beautiful ceremony flowers done by Green Petal Designs. Unfortunately, because so many of the guests traveled, not many flowers went home at the end of the event. I hate wasting flowers so I brought them home, broke them up into mini bouquets, and am sharing them with the neighbors. I made sure to make one big crazy one for my front window

Spent a chunk of Thursday working on these capiz shell place cards, then arrived at the venue today to meet the rental delivery at 1 PM only for them to not show up until 4 PM. Four hours later and the room is set for Saturday's wedding. We do what we need to do to get the job done!!
