The Chefs Association of the Pacific Coast was founded and incorporated in 1952 as a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation to inform and educate the members of the chef community on relevant issues concerning their profession. A primary goal is to provide networking and forums for contemporary chefs to explore, examine and debate current culinary trends and issues in the modern competitive environment.
Membership is composed of Chefs, Purveyors, Educators, Students, Food Enthusiasts and other culinarians in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. In 1969, we became the San Francisco Chapter of the American Culinary Federation, which further empowered the association to participate in national and regional educational conferences and competitions. It is our mission to provide an opportunity for all culinarians to network with accomplished chefs, purveyors and educators. As a nonprofit charitable organization, our members donate their time and talent to raise money for various charities through educational seminars, cooking demonstrations, dinners, special events and culinary competitions. Our community chefs program is currently being expanded to provide additional funds for Bay Area charities, and to give young culinarians an opportunity to work with and learn from top chefs in the area. Through these activities, we promote the culinary arts at all levels and strive to develop a sense of community and teamwork within the culinary industry. We encourage culinarians of all levels to pursue their passion for cooking whether as a professional or as a food enthusiast.
