Real-World Asset Summit was the last of 3 October events in New York for the Whoa Events team 🛫 , and seeing everything come to life was a dream!

We love partnering with the team of dreamers & creatives at Centrifuge 💭

Our favorite part of this event was how all the branding came together. Branding moments included -
✨ Wall clings on columns, the floor, the stairs, doors, high boys, etc.
✨ A beautifully designed zine
✨ Centrifuge espresso cart & custom anthora coffee cups
✨ Branded ice & coasters paired with signature cocktails

Jenn joined the 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗮 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 team in April with 4+ years of experience in the dynamic world of event planning, including 3 years at 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘰𝘳.𝘤𝘰𝘮.

(Re)introducing 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮!

Hiya! It’s Monica here 😊 I’ve been with 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗮 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 for 2.5 years now and have loved every minute of the adventure! Prior to being with Whoa, I 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘥 & 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, but have really enjoyed finding my sweet spot in 𝘂𝗽𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲, 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

A little bit about me:

🌴I live in sunny Tampa, Florida so after work you can find me relaxing by the pool listening to a good true crime podcast

🛫I have loved 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 all over the world with Whoa. Some of my favorite cities so far have been Boston, Park City and Heidelberg.

👩🏼‍💻My favorite type of event to design & produce is an 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘱 filled with surprise and delight around every corner.

Meet 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵 (aka Mere)!

🎙️Meredith joined 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗮 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 in the spring of 2022. From the get-go, she has loved applying her background in stage and company management to experiential corporate events.

👩🏻‍💻 At work, Mere loves 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘹 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 and is always excited to take on new 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 or high-production events. AV and Run of Shows rank high in her favorite parts of the job, beaten only marginally by running an event onsite.

📍Mere lives in North Carolina, where she enjoys a slower personal life. A monthly book club, co-host for a period drama podcast, weekend brunch with her in-laws, and brewery dates with her husband and dog isn’t exactly the typical social calendar of someone who also requires a fast-paced work environment to be happy - but Mere just shrugs and says “I like what I like”

👀 Looking forward, Mere is excited to continue to grow with 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗮 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, and can’t wait to see what comes next for the team.

Excited to be a part of this panel with Najauna White & Carolyn Slade ✨ - Unmasking Success: Women’s Resilience Against Code Switching

❔What is code-switching? ❔
It’s the ways in which a member of an underrepresented group (consciously or unconsciously) adjusts their language, syntax, grammatical structure, behavior and appearance to fit into the dominant culture.

Many of us do this because we want to fit in. Sometimes, we don’t even realize we are doing it.

Public speaking makes me nervous, but this is important. Let’s ask ourselves - is code-switching a burden? A skill? Why do we do it?

Last week, we were back at the St. Regis San Francisco for a roadshow in their Gallery Ballroom + Sculpture.

Ballrooms can be tricky, but we have found added lighting + natural lighting can transform a space. We love the contrast of uplights in the ballroom with the natural light that floods the networking space.
