Seeking: Event Marketing Intern
Location: Pacific Time (Hybrid/Remote)
Duration: Summer & Fall 2024 / Start ASAP

About Cinema for Good:
Cinema for Good is a creative events production startup specializing in fun, immersive, turn-key film festival programming for struggling repertory cinemas across the United States. At a time when AI threatens to disrupt the film industry and further isolate people, we are passionate about doing the opposite: creating unforgettable in-person experiences that celebrate the magic of cinema and bring the local arts scene and businesses together.

Our first film festival, the "Merylthon," had its sold-out debut in San Francisco, and the next festival will be held in Tacoma, WA, the weekend of June 14-16. Learn more about our mission and founders on Cinema for Good’s website: www.cinemaforgood.com.

The Role:
As an Event Marketing Intern, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and achieving the success of our film festivals. You’ll work closely with our co-founders and theater representatives to develop and implement promotional strategies that captivate and engage local audiences. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in event planning, digital marketing, and media relations, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic startup.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and distribution of eye-catching digital and print materials.
- Help manage social media accounts and content editorial calendars, posting daily.
- Build up and engage our community before, during, and after events.
- Conduct market research to identify potential partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
- Support local media outreach leading up to events.

Ideal Candidate:
- Don't have to be a cinephile, but MUST believe in the transformative power of cinema.
- Rising senior in college, pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, event planning, or a related field.
- Based in the Bay Area and can commit to occasional in-person work at our downtown San Francisco office near the Montgomery Station MUNI stop.
- Organized, creative, and enthusiastic about event planning and partnerships.
- Able to juggle multiple tasks and work independently.
- Not afraid to ask questions when stuck. (We want to coach and mentor you!)
- Seeking a valuable learning opportunity to complement another paid part-time job.
- Experience working with Canva, Photoshop, Figma, or similar design tools.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Interested in digital and in-person performance metrics/analytics.
- 1-2 years managing a business's social media account (Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, etc.)
- Great sense of humor.

Compensation:
- Revenue share of the proceeds from each festival, based on hitting performance milestones.
- Public transit stipend for in-office days.
- All meals covered during in-office days.
