Join us on Sunday June 16 for a 4pm screening of ‘Cry in the Dark’ - based on the true story of Lindy Chamberlain. A dingo took her baby, and no one believed her. Shockingly, the phrase “A dingo ate my baby” became an early pop culture meme in the 90s (beginning with Elaine on Seinfeld) and persists as a punchline today. Chamberlain was convicted on faulty expert testimony. She was later released after new evidence proved her claim. For her portrayal of Lindy in the film, Meryl was awarded Best Actress from the Cannes Film Festival and her eighth Academy Award nomination.
After the screening, we will be joined by Chase and Jas of the “Unstreamable” column to talk about the film as well as other Meryl performances. Please join us! Tickets available at www.grandcinema.com
The Merylthon is a production of Cinema For Good.
