We just wanted to say thank you to everyone who made this week happen. From the people at Saluhall who supported us when we had just gone through the difficult loss of our restaurant to our customers, friends and community who always showed up for us whenever we needed. We know it’s been a while since we’ve been on here, between our new San Francisco location opening up, getting all of the needed licenses and dealing with vendors we have had less time to cook and interact with our community. This Friday we’ll be at Bomba Nights hosted by at Federation Brewing in Oakland! It’ll be a night of music, great drinks and we’ll be selling foods like pinchos and pastelillos to go with the great beers on tap.

It’s our favorite time of the year again! We’re officially opening up preorders for the Puerto Rican holiday season. We’ll be selling our coquito, Pasteles and frozen pastelillos like we have in years past but you can now add things like our famous coquito tres leches cake and arroz con gandules to any order as well! The rainy season is upon us and nothing quite beats some Coquito or Pasteles for warmth.

We were waiting for paper work and logistics to be confirmed before we said anything but we’re so absolutely excited, proud and nervous for this next step in our evolution as a business. For us, this means our fundraising has been kicked into overdrive in order to secure all of our equipment and needs for the new space. We are making a small return this week . We will be doing preorders for this Thursday and Friday. Orders can be picked up from 6 to 8:30. The first 10 preorders will receive a piece of our tres leche coquito cake.

We can’t wait to see you and serve you up some homegrown deliciousness.

Despite all that life has thrown at us our incredible chef and mother has triumphed to reach this huge milestone! Chef lulu wears many hats and through all the trials she continued her education steadfast on the future. Navigating through the difficulties of business she graduated with a Liberal Arts BA. We want to congratulate and thank you for being the best chef, student and mother we could ask for!

Hola Mi Gente, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of our beloved restaurant this weekend. We have tried everything to keep our dream alive on Shattuck Ave, but we have faced ongoing challenges with our location, permitting, and our landlord which has lead us here. We have learned so much throughout this process and will continue to learn.

This isn't the end of our journey, but rather the start of a new chapter. We're grateful for all the support you've shown us and look forward to sharing exciting news about our future endeavors soon. Stay tuned for updates!

Calling all the sweet plantain lovers! We’re testing out some different variations of Canoas and think this one made with ground omni pork is the best! The salty, tangy ground pork contrasts the sweet plantain and sauce perfectly. We’ll have a few in house as we test them out

Did you know the term pastelillo is largely region dependent? Most of our family comes from the northern parts of Puerto Rico so we call them pastelillos but in the southern parts of Puerto Rico they’re called empandadillas! Whatever you call them they’re one of our favorite crispy treats we serve.
