Bicycle Music Festival An all day, bicycle mobile, community music festival in and across San Francisco, completely bicycle If there isn't a BMF in your town, you can start one!
(17)

The largest human-powered music festival in the world, the Bicycle Music Festival takes place annually in San Francisco on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice. The Bicycle Music Festival features the world's largest pedal-powered sound system (volunteers from the audience take turns pedaling bicycles in-place to create all the electricity for the stage), and a unique LiveOnBike bicycle par

ade across the city featuring live music performances from atop a bicycle-drawn stage. A 501(c)3 non-profit project of the San Francisco Parks Alliance, the BMF is free to the public (though tipping the bands is actively encouraged). The 2013 event runs from 12pm (Golden Gate Park's Old Log Cabin Meadow) - 9pm (Mission District street closure), and is an all-ages event. A full schedule of the 2013 event can be found at: www.bicyclemusicfestival.com

An open-source idea, autonomous Bicycle Music Festival's have begun to crop up around the world. Other notable BMF's include: Chico BMF, Toronto BMF, and Seattle BMF.
