The theater is home to Children’s Musical Theater San Jose and Lyric Theater. Children’s Musical Theater San Jose is the nation’s largest musical theater and training program for youth of its kind. Lyric Theatre has been performing operettas and musicals

in San Jose since 1972. Built in 1936, the Montgomery Theater retains its historic charm and offers audiences an intimate experience for every performance. With an elegant appearance and contemporary upgrades, it hosts a variety of local cultural and performing arts organizations, as well as corporate meetings and private events. The theater shares a brand new elevator with the San Jose Civic (the venue next door which is connected directly to the Montgomery Theater), allowing the balcony access to be even more convenient for guests. The beautiful courtyard in front of the building, just off the spacious lobby entry way with built in concessions booth, makes for a perfect outdoor entertaining location, registration or cocktail reception prior to event. The Montgomery Theater is located across the street from the Convention Center, making transportation and parking easy with a Light Rail stop at the theater entrance and several pay parking lots across the street.
