Over 125,000 of us Portuguese-Americans call the Bay Area home and a large number of us share a love for the world's game, the beautiful game; soccer! Over the years, thousands of Portuguese-American fans have purchased tickets to our Portuguese Heritage Nights and in the process have added to the vibrant presence of our community throughout the stadium, decked out in their red and green, cheering

, chanting and having a blast. There have been some very memorable Portuguese-themed performances over the years, including DJ’s, folklore groups, marching bands and more! Who could forget the Portuguese National Team player meet and greets we’ve also hosted at this event including such legends as Simão Sabrosa, Ricardo, Marco Caneira, Yannick Djalo and more! We’re also super proud for our TEN years of Portuguese-themed giveaway items, these collectibles come with the special event tickets. Items like bobbleheads, t-shirts, scarves, flags, tote bags and many more. It’s always a memorable summer day at Paypal Park, leaving the entire stadium expressing their appreciation for the night’s culturally-themed events and celebrations. With that said we are keeping the tradition alive and once again partnering with the Portuguese community and your San Jose Earthquakes to host the TENTH annual Portuguese Heritage Night, Saturday August 20th 2022! We invite you to bring the whole family out, yes even Avô & Avó, as there is something for everyone at this event!

We are very excited to welcome MAGÏN as our Pre-Game performer at tomorrow's Portuguese Heritage Night celebration! B MAGÏN is a trilingual lyricist and recording artist from Northern California whose parents originate from the Azores Island of Terceira (Portugal). He commonly incorporates Portuguese & Latin cultures/styles into his music to create a truly unique & memorable sound. After being nominated in 2022 for an International Portuguese Music Awards, MAGÏN is now working on his 10th studio project called “FIFA” set to be released this fall! Join us in welcoming him to PayPal Park!

Representing the local Portuguese Community by kicking our ceremonious "First Goal" ⚽️ at Saturday's Portuguese Heritage Night game is former board member of "Loaves & Fishes" - Rick de Lima!

Rick is a proud Portuguese American, born & raised in San Jose. An active member of the local community, Rick has contributed significantly to many cultural and charitable initiatives, including volunteering for the Portuguese Band of San Jose, Casa Benfica and co-founding the annual San Jose Sharks Portuguese Heritage Night His commitment to social causes is evident in his role as a board member for Loaves and Fishes, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in the South Bay. They do some truly incredible work and Ricky played a huge part in their initiatives, they are also a proud partner of the San Jose Earthquakes! Thank you Ricky for all of your efforts in the Community.

We are very proud to welcome Two-Time Emmy Award Winning Cinematogropher and proud Portuguese-American, Dean Camara to PayPal Park on Saturday to fire the Halftime Siren & welcome the San Jose Earthquakes back to the field!

Dean Camara is a first generation Portuguese-American, his parents immigrated from the Azores Islands. He's been a professional freelance cinematographer for 20 + years, primarily for NFL Films where he has earned two Emmys for his work on the long running HBO series, Hard Knocks. He's also been a part of 10 Super Bowl crews, including this last Super Bowl in Las Vegas. His most recent work with NFL Films can be seen currently on the Netflix series “Receiver”, Dean has been able to combine his skills with his Portuguese heritage by producing and directing 2 seasons of the Emmy nominated series, Marias Portuguese Table on PBS and more recently the sketch comedy series, Portuguese Problems, starring the world-famous comedy troupe, the Portuguese Kids, which premiered in April on the RTPi network.
