After 47 incredible years, Delicious! Catering will be closing its doors. Jan Goldberg and Teresa Hammond have decided to retire, and November 15th will be the date of our last event. Words cannot describe how meaningful this business has been to us, and we are proud to have served this community for so many years.

The decision to close has been difficult and bittersweet. The pandemic created enormous financial and workforce challenges for catering companies. We had the good fortune to receive generous financial assistance, but we could not overcome the ongoing lack of staff.

We will always be grateful for the ways you have brought us into your lives in times of both joy and sorrow. You have been right beside us on this amazing journey, and we could not have succeeded without you. Thank you for your support and your loyalty, and for being with us throughout the years.

We are excited to introduce two new menu items for our Delicious-to-Go! menu. These are available May 12th through May 15th. The Beef Shepherd’s Pie is served with a Garden Salad. The Salmon Ragout is served with Jasmine Rice and a Garden Salad. You can order in advance by clicking the Order Now button under curbside pickup on our website.

We also want to remind you that we deliver. With Spring activities starting, like little league and softball. We know you are being pulled in different directions in the afternoons. We can deliver your food to your doorstep to give you more time to spend with your family.

With Spring’s arrival, we welcome an abundance of asparagus.  This wonderful vegetable is full of nutrients and tastes so good.  It can be enjoyed roasted, grilled, or steamed.  Our chef has made it into a fresh, light soup.  Our Asparagus Bisque is gluten free and vegan.  Perfect for lunch or dinner.  You can purchase our asparagus soup through our Delicious-to-Go! menu on our website.  It is a great addition to one of our dinners, or a fantastic light meal on its own.

This coming week we are showcasing winter squash.  Enjoy our Maple Roasted Acorn Squash stuffed with Wild Rice, Wilted Greens, and Walnuts with one of our side salads.  You can also try our Thai Kabocha Squash and Chickpea Curry served with Basmati Rice.  Either choice will make a perfect warm, savory meal on a chilly evening.

This week, we have a new dinner available for the week of February 10th – February 13th.
We are serving up our homemade Vegetable Chili.  Our chili has eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini, red bell peppers, black beans, and corn. It comes with cheese and red onion on the side, as well as corn bread and glazed carrots.  Our Crab Cake Dinner, Classic Meatloaf, and Coq Au Vin will also be available.  These are perfect meals for these chilly evenings.

This week’s entrée salad features quinoa.  Quinoa has become increasingly popular in healthy diets.  It is a seed from a flowering plant.  It is a great source of protein, fiber, and is gluten free.  
Our quinoa entrée salad includes roasted beets, orange segments, and sweet 100 tomatoes.  We serve it with a citrus vinaigrette.  You can choose to order this vegan meal for $20 (2 portions), or add chicken or tofu for an additional $6.

Looking for a healthy, plant based meal to start off the new year?  Our vegetarian special for the week of January 6th – 9th fits the bill perfectly.   

Filled with eggplant, tomato, peppers, and squashes, this stew will fill you up while keeping things light.  We add chickpeas and fennel to the mix. Chickpeas are full of protein, calcium, and iron, while fennel is an antioxidant and a great source for vitamin C, B and potassium. Just ask for the Ratatouille from our menu when you call to order.

While 2020 sure didn’t turn out as we had planned. We are grateful that we were able to serve you, and for your continued support of our small business. We can hope for better days in 2021.
