The 24 Hour Theater Festival is here! It will showcase students' creativity under pressure. Teams will gather at the Black Box Theater at TL at 7pm on Friday, October 22. There they will receive a theme or a prompt, which they will use to write a 10-minute play. They will spend two hours brainstorming and writing at TL, and then will go home to continue working into the evening. At 9am the next day (Saturday, October 23), everyone will reconvene at the TL theater, where they will rehearse and revise their plays. We will feed you lunch, and you will continue to create. That afternoon we will have tech rehearsals and dress rehearsals, and at 7pm that evening teams will present their plays for live (and streamed?) audiences.
When is it?
The Festival will begin on Friday, October 22, at 7pm. Students will work through the evening and all day Saturday, October 23, with a show that evening.
Workshops will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to about 6pm for the following dates:
9/28; 9/30; 10/5; 10/7; 10/12*; 10/14*; 10/19*; 10/21*
*Please plan to attend these days so that we have a good idea how many people will be participating.
How can I join?
Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary. Come to the Black Box Theater on any of the dates listed above and we will get you started.
We will need playwrights, directors, actors, and technicians to make this work, so if you have any interest at all in theater, come check it out. If you have any questions you can email Mr. Pryor at [email protected].
