The success of your holiday party is NOT determined by a full dance floor, and here's why it can cause your guests to leave early!

Are raffle prizes the unraveling of the celebration portion of holiday party?

Guests quickly tire of the MC repeating the long numbers, are annoyed their dancing has been interrupted, and squint at the bright lights needed to see their tickets. . . All of this can spoil the atmosphere; with guests mistakenly thinking the party is over, and leaving early.

But a smart DJ \ MC can offer solutions to preserve the party vibe while awarding those great prizes.

Start by eliminating those red raffle tickets, and award prizes by name. Everyone at knows your name, and the names of your team members. So, when a name is called there's no need for bright lights, and every reason to cheer when your friend wins a prize. (No one is cheering for ticket number 36249)

Next, The Raffle Dance, is a fun example of how to keep guests at the party, on the dance floor, and maintain the mood! Guests must be on the dance floor, dancing, when their name is called, to win the prize.

Mazel Tov it's Mitzvah time! Today, shop 'til you drop at the prop shop. While we provide all the necessary props for our games, dances, and routines, you may want some props, toys, party favors (not us LOL), or gifts for your guests to keep.

Site Options: Rhode Island Novelty, Oriental Trading, Sure Glow, Pinto Novelty. In no particular order.

The usual suspects: Hats, Horns, Guitars, Glasses, Mardi Gras Beads, Boas, and anything that glows, flashes, or beeps.

Suggestion: If your event is daytime, and the room cannot be darkened, then save your money and skip the glow in the dark stuff.

Quantities: Except for anything glowing, which everyone of all ages wants, you do not need one of everything for everyone but instead simply something for everyone.

Example: If you have 45 young people then 2 dozen hats and 2 dozen glasses will suffice, not 45 of each. Unless the prop is specifically tied to your theme.

Shipping: Ask about shipping your boxes to our office. We will unwrap and prepare your props, saving you time and eliminating the wrapping mess.

Our Opinion: Props are fun and can enhance the party atmosphere. But are NOT required. Great entertainment, not props, will make your celebration successful.

You’ve done your best with the planning. Trust the professionals you’ve hired. Now just relax and let it unfold. Enjoy what happens.

And remember, What will be will be. It is what it is.

There is no such thing as perfection. People are people, accidents happen, the unexpected is all part of life.

Don’t let any of that spoil your day. Only you know if something didn’t go exactly as planned.

Your guests, the audience, will never know the difference. So, let it flow, let it go, and just have fun with it all!
