Today, I had the honor of attending the 6-hour virtual Santa Summit, hosted by the Worldwide Santa Claus Network. This year’s theme, “Random Acts of Kindness,” resonated deeply with everyone in attendance. Throughout the summit, we were reminded that kindness—genuine, thoughtful, and freely given—is at the very heart of the Christmas Spirit. The event brought together Santas, Mrs. Clauses, and holiday performers from across the globe, all united in a shared mission to bring joy, warmth, and goodwill to those we serve.
The speaker lineup was nothing short of inspiring. MK Haley, a Disney Imagineer with over 30 years of experience and a professor at the University of Texas at Austin, shared insights on the power of story and imagination in our portrayals. Brooke Jones, founder of the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, encouraged us to see kindness not just as a gesture, but as a movement. We also heard from Kimberly Moore, founder of the Kimberly Moore Foundation, who reminded us of the transformative power of compassion. Each speaker offered valuable perspective, sparking new ideas and renewing our commitment to our calling.
What many don’t see is the year-round dedication Santas across the country—and around the world—invest in refining their craft. We study, we train, we collaborate. We learn how to be better listeners, more engaging storytellers, and more thoughtful ambassadors of holiday magic. The red suit may be worn for just a few weeks each year, but the heart of Santa lives in us every single day. We strive to bring comfort and joy, not only during the season but in every interaction we have throughout the year.
The Santa Summit was more than an educational event—it was a reminder of why we do what we do. To see so many fellow portrayals dedicate their time and energy toward uplifting others is truly humbling. I left the summit inspired and filled with gratitude, eager to bring even more kindness into the world as Father Christmas of the Three Mountains.
