At our annual Charter Night, the Board decided to permanently retire our Motor Mouth Award. Established in 1970, this prestigious award has been won by many movers and shakers in the club and the community. I merely rose to share the joy it had brought me when I won it in 1987-88 and 2009-10. Now, I'm not much at making speeches but to my surprise, a vote was held and you guessed it, I had won it again. Now the rules requiring a nominator were omitted and a quorum was not in attendance. In fact, I think some of the Lion spouses may have voted illegally so I'm sure they will take it back. Until the next meeting, I intend to display it proudly on the front porch because Peggy will not let me bring it into the house. To our new Lions, I hope the Board reinstates the award for the joy, camaraderie, goodwill, and togetherness it brings.👨🎤
