ExecuProv's training venue is open for on-site classes! On Wednesday, July 1923, we have a "How to Think Fast on Your Feet (without putting them in your mouth) one-day class for business professionals who don't know what to say when... And on July 26 we have another one-day workshop-- "People Skills" where we tone up our Covid-interruption social skills and learn how relate effectively again. Enrollment is limited so each student gets maximum "stage" time. For those of you who aspire to be a standup comic, we have two classes coming up. One starts the week of January 10 and 12 and goes for 3 weeks (6 sessions) and then a show on January 26. We also welcome those who have been performing their routines for some time, but who need new material and a stronger delivery style. Sessions are three hours once a week for 6 weeks. We finish off the series with a stand up show before a live audience of friends and family.

New Online Class: Zoom This!

Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet are becoming some of the number one ways business professionals are choosing to conduct business meetings and presentations. Video conferencing is likely to be the norm, not an interim fix unit Covid-19 vanishes. Therefore, it is important to start adapting and learning the simple basics of being in front of a camera while still having to be professional, and work from home. ExecuProv is excited to announce The Zoom This! It is a 60 to 90-minute live seminar, done over two sessions, that will equip you with do’s and don’ts and solid tips to make your online meeting(s)/presentation(s) zip along, stay on track, make you come across as full-pro, and engender productive results. Zoom This! covers tips for delivery and content as communication and interaction shift to the video-conference format. In the early 80s, after ExecuProv had begun to fascinate the business community by using improv comedy techniques to teach them to become better speakers, its follow up People Skills class gained even more popularity. With the latter class, students learned the “playbook” rules and tools that the “Trust” cast uses on this current television show. You can learn them, too, and use them in your every day one-on-one communication situations.

Take the following quiz to see where you fair on the trust test scale:

Do you demonstrate to others that they can trust you by what you say or by your actions?
Are you usually skeptical of others or automatically trusting?

Do you live up to every commitment you make each day?

Are you always on time, never on time, or sometimes on time to all meetings and business commitments?

Do people have to prove themselves to you?

Do you come through all of the time for clients and business colleagues, or drop the ball at times?

Answering just these few questions determines whether you automatically trust others or they can always trust you. The improv comedy player must always assume that any fellow player can be trusted until he/she proves otherwise. Also, the improv player never, ever lets his fellow player down no matter how big the “stage commitment.”

Trust is the first and basic fundamental taught in any People Skills class; ways to gain it, ways to show it. If you’re slacking in the trust department, step it up. If people don’t trust you, you will not have solid relationships.
