Happy Anniversary to Shaun and Angela who have been friends of mine since I helped them plan their wedding in 2015! It's been such a joy being part of their love story over the years. They will always have a special place in my heart as one of the very first weddings I did when I started my business.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding - the father daughter dance. You can just feel the love through the laughter and sometimes the tears.

It’s such a significant part of the wedding day and a timeless tradition to celebrate the father of the bride and the special bond between a father and his daughter.

After all, she will always be your little girl.

Happy Memorial Day!
.....and happy anniversary to S & G! I loved everything about this wedding and working with these two. It was an absolute joy seeing their wedding dreams become reailty and being able to celebrate their love.

The wedding took place at one of my favorite venues in Santa Barbara, The Riviera Mansion - a stunning location in the heart of downtown with many ammenities and gorgeous lush green gardens that make for amazing photos like these!

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the majority of brides, if not all, want to look and feel their best on their wedding day. ✨

And that starts with hiring a professional makeup artist.

Can you do your own makeup? Sure. But why not hire a professional to do it for you so you don’t have to add another task to your to do list?

Wouldn’t it be nice to just relax in a chair and let someone else make you look like your best self while you sip mimosas with your friends? Of course it would!

I am sooooooo excited to announce our brand new website is live! We've been hard at work for the past 3 months working on this re-launch to bring you a much improved, user friendly website to highlight our team and all the services we offer. It's been an amazing experience and I have to thank the people behind the scenes who I could not have done this without!

C O C K T A I L H O U R E T I Q U E T T E

Let's talk about the cocktail hour, shall we?

Do you need one? What is the purpose? Is it really an hour?

Let's dive in!

Do you need one? In most cases, yes. It is defintely advised and recommended!

The cocktail hour is a transitional period between the ceremony and reception that is often needed so the couple has time for photos after the ceremony, either alone or with their wedding party. It's also a time for guests to mingle, enjoy some light refreshments and find their table before the reception begins. Most people enjoy a good cocktail hour which generally has a bar available for drinks and a few types of appetizers either stationed or being passed around.

In general the cocktail hour does last for an hour, however, it can be shorter or longer depending what time your reception is scheduled to begin. If it needs to go longer, it's best to not let it go over 90 minutes as guests will be ready for the main meal by that point and probably getting a bit bored waiting for the next thing to happen. If you need a longer cocktail hour, try adding some interactive games or something fun to keep your guests entertained. And always, always, always have music playing in the background!

If you are planning to have a cocktail hour, try to get your post-ceremony photos done quickly so you can enjoy some of it! If you can't make it back in time, ask your caterer to prepare a plate of appetizers for you that you can enjoy when you return to the venue. You don't want to miss out on the food you chose and are probably paying for! 😉
