As a young girl Shawna Andrade, owner of Dulce Dia Events, was fascinated with being a bride. She drew pictures of wedding gowns, veils, flowers and tiaras. At 10 years old she knew the type of gown she’d wear one day when walking down the aisle. Her passion for weddings has stayed with her long after her own walk down the aisle. So it was natural for her to turn her passion into a career. With ov
er 15 years of experience Shawna founded Dulce Dia Events specializing in wedding coordination, taking charge of the finer details so the bride and groom can enjoy their special day. Shawna has worked in some of Santa Barbara’s most beautiful hotels and fine dining restaurants. Formerly the Event Sales Manager for Santa Barbara’s Stella Mare’s Restaurant, Shawna has an extensive knowledge of fine dining. Her experience with fine wine and food pairing knowledge is an asset when it comes to suggesting Santa Barbara & Santa Ynez Valley wines to enhance local fare.
“I’ve always known weddings were a passion for me and I knew one day I’d be involved with weddings or wedding gowns. I feel blessed to share a part of such a special day with my clients. It’s rewarding knowing I’ve contributed in a way to make that day special,” Shawna said. The ability to help the bride and groom enjoy their day to the fullest and make the sparkle come to life is something Shawna takes great pride in. So much so that she still remembers the first wedding she coordinated. The smile on the bride’s face and the gratitude and appreciation she expressed to Shawna and Dulce Dia Events for assistance on her perfect day is something special to Shawna.
“She remains in contact with me and that’s how I know what I did—and what I do—comes from my heart,” she said. That bond is something Shawna has the pleasure of forming with many of her Brides. She considers the end of the wedding day as the hardest part of her job.
“After the relationship that is built between the bride and myself, it’s a pleasure to know we part as friends,” – Shawna Andrade
