Since its foundation, Ding Ding TV organized events such as the Silicon Valley Food & Art Festival and Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Forum and Festival; produced shows Innovation Dialog and Battle Silicon, and created and hosted community events Celebrate Lunar New Year Together and Asian American Stories Video Contest. Since 2016, Ding Ding TV hosted the Civic Leadership Forum Silicon Valley four times each year. Its goal is to empower the next generation in civic engagement and civic leadership in the Asian American communities while creating a national network of civic-minded organizations and leaders to work in unity.

Over the years, Ding Ding TV Created 3,000+ videos on YouTube covering Asian American stories, civic engagement, and entrepreneurship, sent out 1,000+ newsletters in both English and Chinese, reaching over 30,000 subscribers weekly, published one million+ pieces of online content with more than 100,000 followers across social media platforms, and organized 500+ events in collaboration with over 800 AAPI organizations nationwide.

In 2021, Diana Ding launched a non-profit extension of Ding Ding TV – Silicon Valley Community Media. It is a new chapter as Ding Ding TV continues its mission to empower and unify AAPI and ethnic leaders, giving them a platform to share the rich stories and contributions of Asian Americans in the United States and around the world.

In 2022, Silicon Valley Community Media partnered with Hollywood award-winning filmmaker Tony Shyu to produce a groundbreaking documentary, “Builders of Silicon Dream.” This powerful documentary highlights the profound impact that AAPI founders and tech pioneers have had on technology and society, not only in Silicon Valley but globally. The documentary will air on PBS.

"For generations, people of Chinese heritage have played a vital role in shaping and strengthening America’s story. In the 1800s, Chinese settlers arrived to mine gold and built the transcontinental railroad—literally helping to connect this nation. Since then, Chinese Americans have served honorably in our military, advanced civil rights, driven innovation, and dedicated themselves to public service.

Yet for too long, individuals of Chinese descent have faced exclusion. Xenophobic laws in the late 19th and early 20th centuries restricted Chinese immigrants from full participation in housing, employment, and education. Chinatowns were burned, and residents were violently driven from their homes. The Chinese Exclusion Act remains one of the darkest chapters in our history.

On Oct.19th at the Sunnyvale AMC Dine-In 12 “Builders of the Silicon Dream” screened at the Silicon Valley Asian Pacific FilmFest. This compelling documentary shines a spotlight on the untold stories of Asian American pioneers who played a pivotal role in shaping Silicon Valley.

The screening of “Builders of the Silicon Dream” included a Q&A with the director of the documentary Tony Shyu, the producer Diana Ding and Anna Mok, President, Chairperson and Co-Founder of Ascend Leadership. The panel was moderated by Gerrye Wong, community leader and advocate.

Through their incredible journeys as immigrants, they overcame challenges, embraced innovation, and ultimately found their own version of the American Dream in the tech industry. Their perseverance, vision, and groundbreaking achievements are not only inspiring but also a vital part of the AAPI narrative. This documentary has been three years in the making and is produced by Silicon Valley Community Media, the non-profit arm of Ding Ding TV, and Himalaya Entertainment.
