On October 9th, Ding Ding TV, US-China Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley & SVCA Foundation held Civic Leadership Forum Silicon Valley. The topic of the forum was “What is the next for Asian Americans after universities discriminate against us?”

http://www.dingdingtv.com/?p=96197

During the COVID era for the past three years, there is a huge impact of student’s learning mode in their academic and extracurricular activities, as well as the college admissions.

Despite the major win over the Harvard lawsuits for the admission against well qualified Asian American applicants, what are our next steps? If we ever face this situation or dilemma again how should we act or respond? We all know the discrimination from Harvard is simply a fact , if they still adopt the so called affirmative action method to evaluate the qualified applicants, how should we as parents or students reason?

Speakers included:
o Jeff Tang; SVCA Foundation
o Marian Chavey: US China Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley Chapter President
o Kenny Xu: The author of School of Woke: How Critical Race Theory Infiltrated American Schools and Why We Must Reclaim Them
o Diana Ding: The founder & CEO of Ding Ding TV

Honored to receive the 2023 Citywide Community Award! Thank you Mayor Lisa Gillmor and Santa Clara council members for this recognition. As they say in Africa, "It takes a village to raise a child." In my case, it took 10 villages to raise Ding Ding TV and support all the events and initiatives we've organized over the years. From Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Festival to Celebrate Lunar New Years Together, from Civic Leadership Forum Silicon Valley to Asian Americans Stories Video Contest and more - these are all testaments to the power of diverse communities working together.

This award is a recognition of not just my efforts, but of the hard work and dedication of the many organizations and individuals who have supported me along the way. Thank you to the Silicon Valley Central Chamber, Cupertino Rotary, Media Services, US-China Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley, US Chinese Women Association, North-West Folks Association, Heart of Hope Asian American Hospice Care, Asian American United, and many more.

As my friend Ana Vargas-Smith said, "It's a positive sign that community and small business still matters in Silicon Valley!" I couldn't agree more. Thank you, Santa Clara, for being my home and for supporting me for decades. And a special shoutout to my dear friends who have been with me every step of the way.
