I am Alicia Yokota, the owner/chief floral designer for Flowers by Alicia. I was born and raised on a flower nursery in my back yard on an acre of land. Then, when I was in high school and college, for fun, I would take floral design classes in my free time. My teacher was a retired owner of a successful floral design shop in Beverly Hills. After finishing classes, I got hands-on experience by des

igning flowers for an event coordinating company and local flower shops.

I graduated with a B.S. in Interior Design from California State University of Northridge and was a high end residential interior designer for 5 years until I found myself unsatisfied in that industry. Underpaid and underappreciated, I wanted to feel free, and in my heart, I had a burning desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives. This led me to open my own business, Flowers by Alicia, where I was finally reunited with my first love, flowers. Here, I can thrive on bringing happiness to couples on their wedding day by sharing my talent for floral design. I love seeing the bride’s face light up when she sees her bouquet and all of her arrangements set up for her big day. It makes me feel like I am doing exactly what I am meant to be doing

My Story - Alicia Yokota

I am the owner and chief floral designer for Flowers by Alicia. I have had a lifelong expertise in flowers. I was born and raised on a flower nursery, that my parents owned on an acre of land in my back yard. Growing up, I had such an fascination with flowers, that I enrolled in floral design classes, which I would take after school during high school and college. My teacher was a retired owner of a successful floral design studio in Beverly Hills and had designed countless floral arrangements for weddings. After finishing classes, I got hands-on experience by designing flowers for local flower shops and an event coordinating company, where I was entrusted to design flowers for parties held by some of Hollywood's top stars including Reese Witherspoon, Chris O'Donnel, and Molly Sims.

I graduated with a B.S. in Interior Design from California State University of Northridge and worked as a high end residential interior designer for 5 years until I found myself ultimately unsatisfied in that industry. I wanted to feel free and had a burning desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. This led me to venture out and create my own business, Flowers by Alicia, where I was finally reunited with my first love, flowers. At last, I can finally thrive on bringing happiness to couples by sharing my talent for floral design. I love seeing the bride’s face light up when she sees her bouquet and arrangements all set up on her big day. I know that her flowers will be an everlasting part of her memory of how beautiful her wedding day was. Helping happy couples create their vision fills me with joy and gives me the feeling that I am acting upon my true calling in this world.
