Today I’m joining my pals for an all jazz extravaganza! Two hours from now, I’m doing my set of all jazz, and I am concerned about this. Jazz has been hugely influential to me, and I’ll be playing my favorites from the 1940s to about 1960. No modern edits or remixes or anything like that. Just the pure goodness of the original recordings. It will be Thursday, January 30 at 6:30 PM Pacific.

Here’s a fun one! I am joining a brand new jazz oriented raid train with the pals at . Tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, at 6:30 PM Pacific time, I’ll be playing only the real deal stuff. No remixes, no edits, only the real original recordings from some of my jazz favorites from the 1940s through 1960s. I’ll be hitting favorites from Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Satchmo, Thelonious, Monk, etc. I love the old jazz and it has been a big influence on the music I play for a long time. I think it’s great that my twitch DJ buddies have set up a raid train just for jazz.

Working on a new project. Here I’m testing a brand new subwoofer (lower right). Pulling together a decent PA system for live gigs. I don’t want to pull my studio apart for live stuff. There will be an announcement soon enough for what the project might be, but astute readers can probably figure it out based on recent posts.

Canadians, who knew that today would be the day I fulfilled my dream of having brisket poutine? And at the NASA “Megabytes Cafe”? It was worth getting up pre-dawn for this. And I wish work were going as well as lunch. But one out of two ain’t bad. 🤣

Trying out new material on the road. This will be my first time playing out with modern motorized platters. They are not perfect, but they work plenty well enough.

I’m stoked to be doing a little ditty for my pals at the Santa Cruz Producers Meetup. The sound system for today at is super classy, so it’s going to be a pure pleasure to hear these songs as they were meant to be heard. I’ll put the event link in the comments.
