This was a bit of a coming out party for me. This mix is one of “Avira unleashed”. It’s the most heavy and whompy bass that I’ve ever brought to ED before, yet still pulls off a dreamy mystical vibe, and is quite the dynamic dance journey.

Who knew I’d ever play an (almost) entire set of bass music?!?
You might know that I am an old raver who fell deeply in love with house music in my early adulthood. But what you may not know is, bass music was not a thing yet. There was drum and bass, and jungle - but bass hadn’t been born. (Gives away my age!!)
I then left my raving to grow a family, and didn’t really keep a pulse on how the music was morphing over the years, until I came back to actively dancing and consuming current EDM, meanwhile also beginning my DJing career around 4 years ago. Upon my return, I found that I had an entire genre to catch up on.
Thanks to exposure from my amazing partner and some inspiration from talented DJ mentors in my community (, , ) I have finally come to find my personal connection to the genre. Being invited to play a downtempo set by , I am really grateful for the opportunity to take this STRETCH to stay under 110 bpms and discover a way to to express myself in this bassy underworld... (and here is the result!)
This set was a tender one to output, mirroring my deeply internal healing process as of late, and also one of the most technically challenging sets I’ve taken on. It was a mighty stretch in ALL the ways, and I am really proud of my new growth.

Super super excited and honored to be invited to play next Friday at my dear friend ‘s monthly event, January Downtemple & Cacao - ‘Regeneration’ w/ Avira Pearl & Cyrenity. As I’ve been sitting in listening for the inspired sounds for this event based on our theme “Regeneration”, the music coming through is a deep, powerful, beautiful, and mystical soundscape inspired by my inner regeneration process as of late.

I played around and did a thing… My mix “Human” has a video format now! Check it out!
Only thing is, I had to remove a track to allow it to be seen in the US, so I brutally cut one out, so in one spot it’s not a very smooth transition. The better listening experience will still be on SoundCloud. Will consider re-recording for YouTube perhaps 🤔
