Summer is here ☀️📚

We had an amazing weekend filled with sunshine and Story Time! From Fabulous fables at the Santa Monica Pier to Main Street Santa Monica Summer Soulstice street festival kid zone at The Pump Station and Nurtury! Always fun to make new friends and spot grown-up Story Time kids from years past!

Fun fact: Books And Cookies started on Main Street in Santa Monica years ago! We love City of Santa Monica!

Took an adventure Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea today at Ivy Station 🌊🐠🦀🐙🐬🐡🐳

We shared stories about the ocean and fish. We swam and danced with egg shakers and scarves, jammed with instruments and jumped on the parachute. Then, we colored fishy magnets!

We had so much fun, celebrating the joy of reading at Ready, Set, Read 's event at Common Space Brewery 📚❤️ 🍺

I shared a high energy musical Story Time to close out the event. There were author book readings, musical performances, art projects, and delicious grubs and suds.

Ready, Set, Read! provides Los Angeles families with an abundance of children’s books and support to lay the foundation for their children’s school readiness and lifelong learning. Focused on families with children ages 0-5, the program emphasizes the joy and benefits of reading aloud together, which we at Books and Cookies, are obviously big fans of!

Summer is here! Even though the sun was not shining for Story Time, we celebrate the joy, wonder and fun that comes with a summer day ☀️

Yesterday, We shared stories about slowing down and reveling in the joys of summer. We moved our bodies and danced with egg shakers and scarves, jammed with instruments and danced on the parachute. Then, we designed our own sunvisor with stickers! See you next Tuesday at Ivy Station! please make note that there is no Story Time at in July.

Story Time HAPPY and sunshine SMILES 😀☀️

Yesterday, we shared stories about happiness and big, bright, beautiful smiles. We moved our bodies and danced in the sunshine with egg shakers and scarves, jammed with instruments and jumped on the parachute. Then, we created our own tiny little happy faces on sticks! Everyone splashed in the water fountains after Story Time, which is always so fun! See you next Tuesday at Ivy Station!

Boom! Roar! Crash! 🦕🦖

Super fun morning gathering in the sunshine at Ivy Station sharing stories about dinos! We sang songs (including old MacDino had a farm) while banging on instruments and stomping around with colorful scarves! Of course, we finished off by jumping on the parachute and coloring prehistoric dinosaur scenes!

Blooming flowers and story time joy 🌷🌻🌸

Lovely morning gathering in the sunshine at Ivy Station sharing stories about flowers! We sang blossoming songs while jamming with instruments and danced with colorful scarves! Of course, we finished off by playing on the rainbow parachute and used watercolors to paint beautiful flowers!
