Do I want a first look? Rather, ask yourself, “where and when do I want my first look?”
You’re going to experience a “first look” no matter what, it’s how this falls into your wedding day schedule that’s the bigger question.
There are so many {non-traditional} factors that come into play like sunset times, wedding party size, family dynamics, and venue or travel logistics that can play a huge role in your decision so try to be open minded when it comes to the discussion of seeing one another before the formal ceremony.
For S+H, they chose to see one another for the first time at their ceremony and it was the perfect choice for them. Their images tell a story of their wedding day with all the girls seeing the gown for the first time, the coouple indicidually exchanging letters and gifts, and ending with her big reveal down the aisle with all the heartfelt emotions.
There’s no right or wrong way to see your fiance on wedding day for the first time, just be sure it makes sense for all of your dynamics!

It’s been five years since we lost him and still there are no words to describe the loss. Instead of trying, I’m sharing Richard’s definition of beauty he wrote as a senior in high school.
Quoting one of his favorite bands, “don’t bother with all my belongings, but pay attention to the list”.
I read it every day, sweet boy.

Beauty...
Whenever you see a child from a broken home and a rough background smile and laugh, that is true beauty.

A sunrise or set.

A girl who dresses modestly yet still looks gorgeous.

A guy unafraid to cry.

Someone extending a helping hand to someone in need. When they go out of their way to do so, even more beautiful.

Seeing someone try their hardest to brighten the lives of others.

The Innocence of children.

Music. True music.

Kindness.

A field of flowers.

A creek.

Trees.

Piano.

An addict conquering their addictions and being able to say no.

A father cry in front of his children.

A soldier embracing their loved ones.

Love.

Eyes.

An older sibling spending time with their younger sibling(s).

Humility.

Someone setting their pride aside.

A husband and bride.

Nature.

Babies, even though some look like aliens.

Passion.

Poetry.

Individuality.

Trying something new.

Elderly couples.

When you see a grandparent and their grandchild hanging out.

Standing up for what is right, even if it is unpopular.

Family.

Just a bit of getting ready advice...
💇‍♀️ 💄 Figure out how to NOT start your day at 6 am with hair & makeup! Use multpile artists who work together so several ‘stations’ can be going all at once.
🎧🎶 Listen to relaxing, fun, or silly music that makes you laugh and dance at a reasonable volume. Overstimulating too early on can make you irritable later.
🥗🥐 Order good healthy food, and I always say, “drink lots of water, no garlic or onions, and please nothing orange!”
🚰 Have a family friend keep the place tidy so MOB isn’t running around cleaning and gathering for everyone else. This is a special day for her too!
📎⏰ Post the schedule so the bride isn’t the only person who knows the timing of the day.
👩 Most importantly, MOB should be ready before bride so she doesn’t miss the dress action with her girl(s) 💕.

Worried about rain on your big day? Take advice from this gal @sydcbell because her wedding day storm was one for the books! She and her brand new husband (along with every single guest) rallied in the storm and made the wet day truly the BEST DAY!! Happy Anniversary to the Bells! You guys are incomparably the most amazing couple who didn’t let a little tornado action ruin the dance floor action! 🌪️😊
