This beautiful family celebrated a baby shower with us over the weekend. The first grandchild on the mother’s side and first grandson on the father’s side of the family. Such a beautiful day.

The Bird Rescue Center does amazing work in our county. Many of us count on them for advice and rescue of injured feathered friends.

On July 25th they will be holding a fundraiser at the Saturday Afternoon Club. There will be amazing birds on display, delicious food, and great wine being served.

Tickets are still available. Come out and support this wonderful organization.

The Bird Rescue Center is the only wildlife organization in Sonoma County, California dedicate to all species of native wild birds.

Historical preservation is a SAC passion. We were recently treated to a fascinating presentation at our February membership meeting.

Our speaker, Mark DeBacker, Is a local historical architect and on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Carrillo Adobe. He is also a long-time Cultural Heritage Board appointee.

He spoke about the history of the Carrillo Adobe, gave us an insightful overview of Maria Carrillo's journey, touched on world history during the Adobe's existence, spoke to the current state of the Adobe, and went over possible future development projects.

Our sincerest appreciation goes out to Mr. DeBacker and SAC Board President, Ann Galantine for setting this up.

The Saturday Afternoon Club is proud to play a small role in encouraging the arts by providing a practice space for the Young People’s Chamber Orchestra. This amazing ensemble of talented teens is directed by Aaron Westman.

The importance of the arts can not be overstated. We applaud the work of Santa Rosa Symphony Institute for Music Education and Santa Rosa Symphony. Bravo!.
