Happy New Year to you GF! I have missed you my friend! I have had 6 weeks off (I don’t think I’ve ever taken that much time off in my entire grown up life!) and it was friggin glorious!!!!! Fully unplugged from social, texts (sorry!), no clients, hardly any content and I was busy! What in the world did I do??? Let me tell you!
1. I thought our house (new build) was going to be done early, just in time for Christmas, but in an unexpected turn of events…it passed final inspection and we moved the Saturday after Thanksgiving!!!! is INCREDIBLE!
2. We ended up selling our house off market, which was the most unexpected twist and blessing. I am SO grateful we didn’t have to show it during the holidays and all that goes with that. Shout out to who was the best real estate agent a girl could ask for and not to mention the whole team (Mary and Ari )!
3. The holidays were spent unpacking, getting organized and soaking in everything we have been dreaming of for FOUR AND A HALF YEARS! I have felt like I’m living my vision board!
4. We all love it and I can’t wait to show it to you soon. This is a sneak peek of our bedroom. I’m in love with the view! I feel like I’m in Tahoe. I also have my first client in the studio Friday! Hoping it all works out in there lol.
5. The we**ie is GIANT! He is only 7 months, but looks so grown up!
6. I am one of those people that goes ALL IN when I do something. Everything else gets shoved to the side and I’m fully invested. In a lot of ways I suck at multitasking. I have taken like 90% of my bandwidth for the past year and a half and poured it into every decision made in this new house. I am PUMPED on the outcome, but at the sacrifice of me not taking care of myself in every single way. If my life were college, I’d have gotten an A in new build, an F in taking care of myself, a C in content creation (as evidenced by me not sharing the process because I’m incapable of multitasking that) a B+ in makeup and a B in family life lol. This year I’m going for B’s all around.

Funny story. This is my beautiful friend Nalishma. She came over for makeup for family photos. We love talking products and I was like OMG i JUST got the new Dior Foundation stick and it’s incredible but I think I got your color. She looked at me skeptically because I’m clearly MUCH more fair than she is. And I’m like yah, I think I’m as tan as you and chose to wear it anyways because I liked it. So on this day we wore the same color 🤣 In the mail is two new lighter shades for me and I’m keeping her shade for my kit. Another point I wanna make is how beautiful she looks and if you peep the product list, it’s a lot of the same things I always use. Love how versatile they are amongst different tones. Different shades but same stuff! You look stunning my friend!

Happy birthday to my husband Chris! On your 44th trip around the sun, you are KILLING it. I’ve known you since you were 19 years old and I loved you for exactly who you were. I’m even more in love with the incredible man you have become. It goes without saying you are an amazing husband, father to our boys, cat dad and now dog father. The we**ie doesn’t wag his tail like that for just anyone you know. I feel like my birthday card catch phrase is something to the effect of, “Cheers to your best year yet!” I feel this next year is about to POP OFF!!!!! We had a lofty dream of building a house in our home town 4.5 years ago. We bought the land and quickly realized we were in WAY over our head. We were both filled with so much doubt we could ever pull it off. Perhaps we would leave our kids a pile of dirt someday lol. We dug in, strategized, downsized expectations, found the best contractor ever, worked out absolute asses off and saved. I manifest every night before I go to bed we can be in there by Christmas. I couldn’t have done this without you. The stress of finances AND building a house and all the unexpected that comes with it can wreak havoc on a marriage. I can see the other side and I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you. I’m so proud of the hustle you have always demonstrated (even at 19 lol), the focus, the hardwork and dedication professionally and personally you always exemplify. Love getting to dress for cooler weather! These items have been in heavy rotation so far:
✔️ I have been loving these linen pants from in lieu of jeans or leggings. I feel comfy, but also polished and put together. I have them in black, white AND Ecru + a drawstring waist? Yes please!
✔️ I am super picky about sweaters and I have been loving this one from . It’s soft, and easy to wash/dry. Hate the pilling that often goes along with sweaters, and this knit is worth the investment.
✔️ Still rocking my 327 all the time as they are literally the most comfy shoe.
✔️ I totally got influenced by sponsored posts in my feed. Like a moth to a flame with me and shiny things and I’ve been wearing this fancy necklace paired with simple basics and it makes me so happy! I need more from her stat.

Nadia has one of those faces that is so naturally beautiful with or without makeup. Loved this warm, matte shadow look. Warmth can really bring out the gold flecks in brown eyes. Classic and gorge. I wonder if I will ever a strip lash again the way I love individual lashes. I was hooked on the strip lash for years, but the individual fluff is just so good. I enjoyed my day so much Nadia! the bride told me her mom was 71 and I was looking around the room for her. Ummmm this is her. Doesnt she’s look like she is in her 50’s??? We couldn’t get over it. It isn’t just her looks, it’s also her spirit. She has been a dancer/ instructor for years. She walks daily and just exudes this effervescent energy that I would love to have, especially when I turn 71. Anyhoo, she was an absolute delight of an MOB and I really enjoyed the time I spent with her. 🩷

Courtney reached out for a makeup lesson shortly after starting chemo. She knew she would be losing all her hair and wanted to get ahead of it. She was my inspo for the recent tutorials on How to Fill in Brows + How to Apply Lashes when you don’t have hair:) That was the focus of our lesson, not just me doing it, but taking the time for her to walk away with the right technique to do from home. I was also beyond impressed with her wig and it was from a local shop in Windsor, called Hair Peace (). She said that Rachel was incredibly helpful. MOB version: Matte or shimmer for eye shadow?
Just because you are over 40 doesn’t mean you can’t partake in a shimmery lid. In fact, it can be so fun and fresh! My advice is to concentrate it on the lid only (with matte everywhere else) and choose a high quality product that doesn’t look like a cheap sparkle. has the ultimate shimmery shadows that are so beautiful they almost look like velvet. Our beautiful MOB had incredible brows, beautiful gold flecks in her brown eyes and skin the was well taken care of. I had so much fun on her face! XOXO

Matte or shimmer for bridal eye shadow?
I think both are gorgeous and it comes down to personal preference. When in doubt, I would always go for matte. It’s classic, beautiful, always photographs well and lets your features be the star of the show. I always recommend a bridal preview. Not because we as makeup artists couldn’t figure out how to deliver a beautiful look, but now we know your face. The second time around, I’ve studied your picture, and analyzed what could make it better. In the case of beautiful Alexa, it was a pinkier lip and cheek. I LOVE her vibe. Fresh and glowy with just the right amount of color. I seriously loved you so much and chatting with every single person today was so fun! Dying to see your dress! XOXO

Catch up on the we**ie! He has been with us for about 7 weeks and it definitely feels like I have a 3rd kid. Adorable, but SO.MUCH.WORK.
The name Maui feels like a formality as this point. He is affectionately known by all as The We**ie. Very original, I know. I also signed up for a fantasy football situation (I know nothing! Go sports!) and our team name is Teeny We**ies. 🤣
We hit a big milestone! Yesterday, he got his remaining vaccines. So very soon my little man will go out on walks. I suspect it will be like walking a cat at first. Any tips tell me in the comments on the leash training situation. He is doing great with other dogs, kiddos, the car, not a fan of the vet 👀 and likes to nip with his shark teeth when he’s tired. Potty training feels kind of painful. He barks at everyone who walks into my house, but I suppose it’s a good thing. Nothing gets by him! The cats are not fans of the we**ie, but he really likes them! 🤣 Exhausting but worth it. 🩷

Virtual Lesson ➡️ DIY Wedding Makeup 🙌
I am so proud of you Ellie! You did amazing! As you may know, The Makeup Lesson is a service I offer and that includes a virtual option. I don’t talk about it much, because honestly Virtual Makeup Lessons are really hard and I don’t have a lot of availability. They are difficult because I can’t touch your face, I can’t show you how on one side of YOUR face or adjust the way you are holding the brush. With no physical contact, I can only use my words. Not to mention, I have to assess your makeup ahead of time, to make sure you have what you need to even execute everything we need to cover. It’s a lot! Ellie was determined to do her own wedding makeup. She lives on the east coast and found me on IG. She had realistic (in terms of her skill set which was already pretty good!!!) inspiration photos that she wanted to achieve. She did great during our lesson, we troubleshooted through a few tweaks and she practiced. A lot. I have been DYING to see how she did and she absolutely killed it. A beautiful bride with beautiful makeup. Great job my friend! The end result was worth the wait and congratulations!!!!! XO

Story time: I got REALLY nervous today. My gorgeous bride Catherine loves some serious glow, LOTS of highlighter and LOTS of blush and then MORE highlighter. At her preview it was a glowy base, foundation, cream blush + powder, cream bronzer + powder, so much highlighter - ALL the things. She has taken beautiful care of her skin and got a spray tan. It’s pretty normal with a skincare routine for your face to fade. My job was to recreate our Preview + make her about 4 shades darker to match her chest. To my shock and horror, NOTHING would stick to her face. It was like moving around and not grabbing. Muddier with each passing layer and was looking WILD and streaky. I’m not sure if it was her skincare not reacting with my products, or the derma-plane situation that made the canvas so smooth, but it was like she was immediately melting off her makeup. That has never happened to me EVER. I decided to start over and took a wipe to her entire face despite being on a strict timeline. I said to her, “My #1 goal is to get this to stick and match your chest and glow is gonna have to take a backseat my friend.” I knew I had to create grit, so I busted out ’s classic technique of translucent loose powder all over the face in an even dusting and spray with setting spray (I used one size powder and ANSS). Let that sit and then stipple on your foundation. I used Armani luminous silk and tarte shape tape. To both of our pleasant surprise that worked beautifully. As I slowly started to build her skin, it actually looked so fab I’m tempted to try on myself lol. I couldn’t use any cream products or it immediately became mud. With her surroundings being matte, the glow up on her cheek actually looked stunning and I am OBSESSED with her end result. Despite actually getting sweaty AF in the process, she turned out like a friggin QUEEN. Thank you Catherine for trusting me with your beautiful face. You are the best! LOVE YOU!

During the planning process/bridal preview we have talked extensively about all the things. Who are all the vendors, bridal party drama (there was none at this wedding lol!), the story of how they met, what her dress looks like, what she is nervous about etc. I LOVE being with her the whole day. The only downside is I don’t get to see it come to life other than the pics! Galleries are so fun for me, because I get to finally see it all. Victoria’s Welcome Party + Wedding in Scottsdale, AZ was so beautiful. She is an absolute Queen. I’ve told you this story before, but she was MOH at her bestie’s wedding in Napa. She loved her makeup and said, “Would you ever come to AZ?” It would be so amazing if you were able to do mine!” Fast forward to we made it happen! Such a beautiful bride my friend!!!! ILYSM! XO
