THE perf summer skin routine that takes less than 5 min to do! This is like my daily uniform but the beauty version. Lots of our favorites from @innbeautyproject. I know you have seen me use many of these things before:
1. I just splash with water in the morning, no cleanser. I like to apply the serum on skin that was just lightly patted dry. It is hydrating enough that I don’t feel I have to add moisturizer on my oily areas (forehead and chin)
2. I definitely load up the moisturizer on my dry cheeks and love how it adds a beautiful glow to my chest.
3. Take your time with SPF! Don’t forget your ears, neck, chest, hair part
Elastic Skin Serum on slightly damp skin. This is vegan snail mucin that’s super hydrating, I use it all over my face and in the area where I’ll put concealer. My cheeks are super dry so I love topping this off with extreme cream moisturizer which is glossy and beautiful. Next is a generous helping of their mineral sun glow spf 43. I take my time to really work it into my face, neck, chest, ears and back of my hands. This has no coverage to it but somehow gives my skin a filter like effect that is so pretty I don’t usually bother with foundation. I dot concealer in a few key places and it blends in beautifully over these products. Add your fave blush for color and then I LOVE their plumping sun balm spf lip balm. I’m using the shade pink and it’s so juicy and pretty! Sometimes I wear this alone, sometimes with lip liner. This has been my everyday summer skin paired with the standard ponytail and we are talking less than 5 min. When I take care of my skin, I don’t wear as much makeup and I love that for me! How do you know when you “need” a barrier repair cream vs. regular moisturizer? Dry, flakey, inflamed, rough, bumpy, or scaly can all be signs your skin barrier needs some love. I find that many of my clients are overdoing it with retinoids and these symptoms are the result. You don’t need to stop using your retinoid (you may want to evaluate the frequency), but you do want to support your skin. That is exactly when to reach for a barrier repair cream and Ghostberry from @alpynbeauty is at the top of my list. Barrier creams are generally thicker and intended to repair damaged skin. @charlottetilbury is doing my makeup! Well not Charlotte herself, but one of the brand’s pro makeup artists! These are the 7 things I did to prep for my makeup appointment. Save this for when it’s your turn to get your makeup done!
As a pro makeup artist I haven’t had my makeup done in 15 years (since my wedding)!!! I’m going to a black tie situation tonite and jumped at the chance to have someone else do it.
I’m also doing it early enough that I have time to tweak if needed! Here is how I prepped AS a pro makeup artist to HAVE a pro makeup artist do my makeup.
1. I have a photo of how I normally do my makeup so he can see how I do my brows and overall vibe.
2. I have some inspo photos for him but really want him to do whatever he wants! I tried to choose someone with similar coloring.
3. I did NOT do a sheet mask as I find they can cause pilling before makeup.
4. I did my normal skincare about 45 min prior to give it time to absorb.
5. I wore a top that doesn’t go over my head and bonus it shows my chest. This is helpful with a spray tan, so he can match my foundation.
6. I have MY lash curler and mascara on hand. Pro mua’s have to use disposable wands and they often times aren’t the best, so he may like using my mascara.
7. My hair is pulled back and out of the way so he can beat my face!

I’m not great with my words, but as your internet bestie, we gotta talk. It’s been a tough week for me (as a hypochondriac and a person who spirals easily), and I’m really grateful for those that talked me off the ledge. Thank you @___thefinder for coming with me today. My goal in sharing this info is to inspire you and ME to take care of yourself. Both by staying on top of preventative health appointments, but also in every day decisions. Our health is the most important thing, and with a lot of reflection I realize I could be doing a MUCH better job. I deem so many things as more important than me and my needs. Ever wonder what order to apply your makeup? SAVE THIS! I’m also showing you 6 must have brush shapes to accomplish this application like a pro MUA! You can reference the caption for steps or follow along to hear the why and see it in action. ✨
ORDER OF APPLICATION
1. Brow pencil on clean dry skin.
2. Eye products (Not all of these items are used with every single makeup): I typically start with an eye primer (applied with a flat brush). On to eye shadow, I do the crease next with a matte color (bronzer works well!) and a fluffy crease brush. If you want to do a matte color on the lid, I like to use that same flat brush. You may want to own two, in case you got yours really wet with primer. IF you are doing something shimmery, I like to apply a base like a shadow stick or a cream shadow in a similar tone to the shadow you want to use, to really make the color pop. For the shimmery shadow I actually prefer applying with my ring finger. It gives the most impact with the least amount of fallout. If you prefer a brush, yet again the flat one for the win!
3. IF you like powder or pencil eye liner I would next, then curl lashes and do mascara. IF you like liquid, curl lashes, do mascara and then liquid!
4. Clean up all fall out on the face with a makeup wipe.
5. Skin prep. I like the skin to have a great slip to it. That can be moisturizer and eye cream or if you just finished your skincare routine you may not need this!
6. Foundation applied with a brush.
7. Concealer with the other side of the brush
8. Bronzer with an angled face brush (I have a few on my list as options)
9. Blush (you can use same brush)
10. Setting mist to lock it all in
11. While that’s drying…Lip liner, lipstick or gloss (if you got crazy spraying, you may need to blot your lips so they are dry to start).
12. Small setting brush and setting powder to set under eyes and any areas I don’t want to be shiny!

How to get skin that looks like skin, when your own doesn’t look like HERS! Starting with a good skincare routine is important, but what about dark circles, hyperpigmentation and melasma? This is more about skincare prep than makeup. I LOVE Extreme Cream from @innbeautyproject #innbeautypartner. Not only does it feel luxurious and hydrating, but GF it visibly FIRMS giving us a subtly snatched start. It gives a slight glassy finish. Give it a few minutes to absorb. The next layer is Face Glaze. A light weight highlighting gel also by iNNBEAUTY. It is packed with hyaluronic acid which is going to plump your skin and give it a dewy glow. That actually may be the perfect combo and you are done, but if you still have imperfections you want to cover: I used a bit of corrector under my eyes to brighten and dot over blemishes. You could even sit with a dewy setting its and reveal YOUR skin that looks like skin.
