One of our favorite things to hear is, “I can get roses cheaper at the grocery store.” And you know what? You can! Here’s why.

🌹 Did you know that roses are graded just like diamonds? It all comes down to stem length, bloom size, and processing.

✨Short – 30–40 cm bloom size (12–16 inches long)
✨Medium – 40–50 cm bloom size (16–20 inches long)
✨Long – 50–60 cm bloom size (20–24 inches long)
✨Extra Long – 60–70 cm bloom size (24–28 inches long)
✨Super Long – 70–90+ cm bloom size (28–36 inches or more long)

These are the common commercial grade names used by flower farmers, distributors, wholesalers, and florists.

✨Select / Premium – The crème de la crème; long stems, large heads, and pristine condition.
✨Choice – Good quality; slightly shorter stems or smaller heads.
✨Fancy / Standard – Acceptable quality for everyday arrangements, usually shorter stems.
✨Shorts – Budget-friendly; short stems and smaller blooms, perfect for mixed arrangements.

💡 Remember: the longer the stem, the bigger the bloom, the higher the quality, and the greater the “wow” factor!

Who are flower order gatherers or brokers? 💐

Flower order gatherers are companies or websites that collect floral arrangement orders without fulfilling them directly. Instead, they delegate those orders to local florists; typically for a commission.

How They Work:
1. A customer places an order on a national platform (like 1-800-Flowers, ProFlowers, or Teleflora).
2. The gatherer takes a share of the payment.
3. The remaining funds go to a local florist to create and deliver the flowers.

Why They’re Controversial:
• Local florists earn less: Often, the florist receives only a small portion of the total amount paid by the customer.
• Quality may dip: Since the local florist is fulfilling someone else's commitment (often at a reduced rate), the arrangement might not reflect what was promised.
• Customer confusion: Many buyers believe they’re purchasing directly from a local shop, when in reality, they’re engaging with a third party.
• Hidden fees: Order gatherers frequently add extra service or handling charges on top of the arrangement price.
