Mistakes a friend or family member make officiating a wedding mostly result from nervousness and lack of experience. Some faux pas are funny, maybe bad for photos but others can be substantial.

One couple from August isn’t legally married! We got the Florida license issued by mail for them and they had a friend officiate. No one paid attention to the issue date, effective date or expiration date. Have to reissue license, remarry them at Starbucks. No kidding!!
