SPAC Action Council SPAC Action Council’s mission is to serve as a community of ambassadors to SPAC It is a family-focused event that sells out two performances year after year.

Our Events:

Nutcracker Tea: November
The Nutcracker Tea is an annual favorite and a perfect way to kick off the holiday season. Children delight in the English tradition of high tea, complete with kid-friendly finger sandwiches, hot chocolate, and dessert, while enjoying an up close and personal performance of excerpts from The Nutcracker, as presented by the Northeast Ballet Company. SPAC In Conversation: October
The annual SPAC In Conversation event has been dubbed a "day all about me - feed your brain, feed your body, and feed your need for self-indulgence with a little retail therapy, all for a great cause". The events begin with a continental breakfast in the lobby of the Spa Little Theatre. Next a speaker or performer entertains us, often speaking about artists, writers, historical figures or cultural icons. We then move to the Hall of Springs for a fabulous luncheon complete with shopping booths from local vendors who donate a fee to participate to SPAC. SPECIAL PROGRAM:

Vivienne Anderson Children's Program: July
The Action Council funds support for this very special program which provides free tickets to a ballet performance to underserved area youth, offering them the opportunity to experience the joys of the arts. The children visit the National Museum of Dance, meet with dancers from the company, and learn about a dancer's life. They view the performance after having been introduced to the story line, choreographer, and composer. It is the goal of the program that experiencing the arts in such a meaningful way, often for their first time, will help these children foster a lifelong love of the arts.

🥁 We're so excited to reveal our 2025 season artwork, illustrated by our friend Shawn Carney (The New York Times Style Magazine, Wall Street Journal), and centered around this season's theme of WONDER. ✨ ​

WONDER, was inspired by the work of 24th U.S. Poet Laureate, Ada Limón. Limón urges us to maintain a sense of awe and curiosity, and to appreciate the many wonders of life that foster resilience and discovery.​

S**C Action Council and Friends of S**C had the best time decorating the Spa Little Theater for the holidays!

If you haven’t already, buy your tickets for the Sound of the Season Series, Dec. 13, 14, 15 these performances are sure to get you in the holiday spirit! 🎁🎄

We will also be collecting much needed donations for the Franklin Community Center during these performances.

For those that attended S**C In Conversation on 10/16, did you realize that our centerpieces were made with vegetables and flowers? We had kale we had red & white radishes, broccoli, brussels sprouts, carrots, and artichokes along with dahlias, some were provided by Pitney Meadows and all arranged by the talented Action Council decor committee! When the event was over, the centerpieces were dismantled, cleaned and the vegetables donated to The Franklin Community Center!
