The A-Town Get Down Foundation invites the community to attend the 2019 fundraiser taking place on June 29th, 2019 at the American Legion Ballroom at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of a festival, this year’s event will focus on celebrating the arts outreach mission of A-Town and salute founder Tom Townsend for his continued dedication, after suffering a near-fatal shooting in September 2018.

Our Story

An art & music festival celebrating creative expression and spirit as exemplified by the life of Alex Townsend. In lieu of a festival, this year’s event will focus on celebrating the arts outreach mission of A-Town and salute founder Tom Townsend for his continued dedication, after suffering a near-fatal shooting in September 2018. The A-Town Get Down Foundation invites the community to attend the 2019 fundraiser taking place on June 29th, 2019 at the American Legion Ballroom at 7:00 p.m. The Foundation recognizes the tremendous generosity of the Savannah community in its support of The A-Town Get Down over the past nine years, and hopes all will come out for an evening of live music, live art, great food, and a silent auction. The musical line-up will feature A-Town favorites: Missionary Blues, Walter Parks, Tom Townsend, and an All-Star Jam Session you will not want to miss! Proceeds for the evening will go to the Alex Townsend Memorial Foundation in support of the organization’s mission of increasing access to art and music for all in Savannah.
