Crash Events - How it began.

It seems like yesterday that my sister threw a high school party and her friend Judd showed up with two speakers, a mixer, and a disco ball. I’m realizing now (12.3.18) that her party was probably 22 years ago! I remember being awestruck that a guy was getting paid to DJ a party for his classmates. I saw my buddy Jeff the next day and said “we’re going to be DJs,” and he simply nodded and said “let’s do it.” For the next 22 years music would be my life. Percussion, musical theater, church choir, dancing, DJing parties and school dances...and time for soccer of course...I tried to do it all.

In 2006 Crash Events was born. Post college. Mostly out of nowhere. After attending a few weddings I brought DJing back into my life. Year one, 3 gigs. Year two, 7 gigs. Year three, 22! I found my niche. I’ve lost count of how many events and weddings I’ve done at this point, but it has to be over 1,000 and I’m happy to continue for a bit longer. Always my “side hustle,” DJing will remain something I love to do v.s. something I need to do. It keeps me honest and interested in my clients/friends. I’ve made a ton of friends, one enemy (you know who you aren’t), and am thankful for those who help me promote my biz.

I’m hardly a salesman. I play good music and have a great knowledge of the music industry through the decades. CE keeps it organized and works well with each vendor, venue, and wedding planner because we’re all in it together to make sure your event goes well!

The first concert I attended was Boyz II Men featuring MC Hammer, and I’m pretty confident in saying that Santana’s “Soul Sacrifice” live at Woodstock is my favorite song ever, but the first two singles (on tape) that were truly mine were Go Ninja Go! and Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” If I can offer you any advice about your event or wedding it’s from those two songs; Sometimes the ridiculous music can be the best music, and don’t worry, be happy.
